Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments for accepting a bad situation are somewhat repetitive and lack logical depth, while the arguments for improving situations are vague. For instance, the phrase 'people are stocked when they get such this problem' is unclear and does not effectively support the argument. The position is stated but lacks the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. To improve, you should provide concrete examples or logical explanations for why one might choose to accept a situation versus why they should strive for change.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'One the one hand' and 'One the another hand' are used incorrectly. Additionally, the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed. For example, the jump from discussing financial issues to the conclusion that people should 'let to be happening' lacks a clear logical progression. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'lake of money' (lack of money), 'un satisfy' (unsatisfied), and 'stock' (stuck). The range of vocabulary is narrow, relying on basic terms like 'awful' and 'bad' repeatedly throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more accurate collocations. Focusing on learning word families and their correct usage in context will help you express your ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that often affect the clarity of the message. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'many people consider that accepting... is best however other believe' lacks necessary punctuation and correct pluralisation. The sentence 'People never satisfied from their life' is missing a verb. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'what they find in their life'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using articles correctly before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
