Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued by some people that accepting unsatisfactory things as it is helps you to live present and gives you a comfort zone. Meanwhile, others argued that it is best to try out that situation that gives you exposure to new skills and useful knowledge. However, I believe that trying to improve things and make things accord to you is for self-satisfaction.
On the one hand, the supporters of accepting the bad situation believe it gives you time for living in today and enjoying present life. As with a lot of free time, people can enjoy present moments of life. Take an example of Mongolia, in 2015, the census date shows there were a lot of people happy to live in the current situation and enjoy every life moment, mainly because they had much free time to do different activities. Hence, it's proved that accepting situations and living life is worthwhile in terms of self-happiness.
While on the other hand, the advocates of people should try to change bad situations in life for improving their lives and skills. As hard-working people who are trying to improve day by day can improve their lives and skills easily with consistency. For instance, in Japan, it is expected that by the year 2044, their maximum population will be skillful and have succeeded in their lives, mainly because now they are trying to improve every unacceptable situation. Thus, people should be trying to improve continuously in their life.
However, I believe that people must try to do things according to their style just for satisfaction on their own. As having satisfying feelings gives you happiness.
To sum up, eventhouh accepting things as it is gives you a comfort zone and a lot of time for leisure. But according to my perspective, I believe societies must try out better things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The examples provided, such as the census data in Mongolia and the projection for Japan in 2044, are vague and do not clearly illustrate the core arguments regarding accepting versus improving a bad situation. The essay would benefit from more detailed explanations of why one might choose to accept a situation versus the specific benefits of striving for improvement. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments lack depth and logical connection to the examples provided, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is an overall logical progression. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'While on the other hand,' and 'To sum up,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'As with a lot of free time' and 'As hard-working people.' Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between the Mongolian census and the argument for accepting bad situations is tenuous. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'advocates' and 'consistency,' but the range is somewhat limited. Some word choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as 'accepting unsatisfactory things as it is' and 'make things accord to you.' There are also minor errors in collocation and phrasing that occasionally hinder the flow of ideas. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('others argued' vs 'others argue'), article usage, and sentence fragments ('As hard-working people who are trying to improve day by day can improve their lives and skills easily with consistency'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels repetitive or slightly disjointed. The errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. More attention to complex sentence formation and proofreading for basic errors is recommended.
