Student answer (Band 6.0)

Everyone has a good and bad day, but manage of these days is very crucial. Some individuals believe that it is best to accept a bad situation like not getting good job or not having sufficient money, while some argue that it is better to out from it and improve such condition.

To commence with, bad phase is totally depend on the person, how their point of view to see the tough situation and mentality against problematic situation. Once in life everyone has to face this type of condition. We should accept the situation in some cases, for instance, any situation which is totally out of hand to us and even intentionally we can not change the situation. Unsatisfactory job and shortage of money is the short term tough condition, we just need to know that how can we come out from this situation as soon as possible. If we do not take any steps against this type of situation then it has ability to ruin our future.

On the contrary, according to another group and also from my point of view, it is the best option to work very hard to come out from this situation and always believe on our self, it will help us to stay focused in our life. This type of short term tough phase is temporary, people need to make proper solution and work on it is beneficial rather than accept the situation. If people are continuously work without distraction then they will definitely face this condition as well as gain confidence.

To put it in nutshell, i pen down saying that bad situation is temporary but ourself is permanent therefore focused on us rather then problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that some situations are 'out of hand,' the explanation of why one might choose to accept a bad situation is underdeveloped. The arguments regarding the alternative view—that one should work hard to improve conditions—are repetitive and lack specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by distinct, logical reasoning rather than general statements. The conclusion is present but lacks a summary of the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To commence with' is used, but the subsequent flow of ideas is disjointed. There are issues with referencing; phrases like 'this type of condition' are used frequently without clear antecedents. The transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'bad situation' and 'tough condition' repeatedly. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'manage of these days' and 'out from it.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the occasional misuse of words (e.g., 'i pen down saying') limit the score. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to career development, resilience, and problem-solving.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'bad phase is totally depend'), article usage (e.g., 'not getting good job'), and word order. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
