Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the discussion. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped; for instance, the explanation of why people accept bad situations is quite brief and lacks specific, well-supported examples. The conclusion is also quite short. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the lack of education and the example of students with scholarships. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'tuition fees', 'technological advancements', and 'promotion'. However, there are some awkward word choices and phrasing, such as 'In the recent times' (should be 'In recent times') and 'make everything to achieve easily' (should be 'make everything easier to achieve'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary, while ensuring that your word choices are natural and accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'There is an ongoing debate is there whether' (redundant 'is there'), 'do not have sufficient money' (should be 'not having'), and 'there are many technological advancements are done' (incorrect passive construction). While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they often contain errors. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound. Proofreading for basic errors like these will significantly improve your score.
