Student answer (Band 6.0)

People all over the world have got different opinions and preferences towards principles of leading life. As per those principles they pass their life on their on terms. One of the most argued topic is over notion of contentment. There are varied thoughts on satisfaction across the world as per the philosophy of individuals. Some souls are highly satisfied while some absorbs relentlessness. According to this, the world gets divided into two categories. The ones who are contented and the ones are not.

As per the passage of time, there arises many situations where one acts as per his own will. situations which includes an unsatisfactory job, financial crisis, deteriorated health, family problems, scarcity of nutritious food, and many more. But in this kind of difficulties, some are satisfied who accepts their flaws and reality and act likewise. But on the other hand, there are people who fight against their flaws, setbacks, and lacking. Who constantly try to improvise their current situation. These type of people are not satisfied as they constantly want to uplift their life and turn the tables to acquire a shift from their current longings for which they crave.

However, people argue that one most be satisfied and accept the reality while others favors to flip their loopholes. According to my perspective, one must belong to the second category. To restlessly grind for their own as well as for their family and society's betterment. These would lead one to the highest pinnacles of success along with self actualization and personal driving force. Acquisition of such philosophy is the crux of an ideal successful life for an individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention 'unsatisfactory jobs' and 'financial crisis', the discussion lacks specific examples or logical depth to fully support the arguments. The essay tends to rely on abstract philosophical statements rather than concrete analysis of the prompt. To reach a higher band, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by clear, extended reasoning rather than general assertions about human nature. The position is consistent, but the overall development is limited by the lack of specific, real-world context.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is acceptable, though the introduction and conclusion are quite brief. There is a logical progression of ideas, but the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as the repetitive use of 'As per' and 'But' at the start of sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the 'two categories' of people and the specific examples of hardship could be smoother. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the general philosophy and the specific task requirements could be more refined.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary, such as 'deteriorated', 'pinnacles', and 'self-actualization'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'some absorbs relentlessness' and 'flip their loopholes'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. While you have an adequate range for the task, the misuse of certain terms prevents the vocabulary from being considered 'flexible' or 'precise'. Focusing on learning common collocations rather than isolated 'big' words will help improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'some are satisfied who accepts their flaws') and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'one most be satisfied'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are several sentence fragments or run-on structures that affect the flow. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors means that the control of grammar is not consistent enough for a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
