Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that is is better to accept the tough time like an unsatisfactory employment or financial issue and others debate that it is good to explore and improvised similar situations. This essay is going to discuss both point of views.

In my perspective, sometimes admitting the bitter truth help the person to understand the flaws or errors that made the circumstances worst. When the person is aware of his/her situation it motivates the person to face the setbacks and try even harder to avoid the similar happenings in future.

I agree to the people's mindset that a person should always put an effort to knock down his/her bad time or elevate the situation. Personally, people should be hard working and never lose hope that their good time will never come.

For instance, if the person is facing a job issues like he has not a handsome salary and because of it he is not able to fulfill the daily essentials so in this matter rather than just accepting the situation he should look for another job.

In conclusion, ups and downs are the part of everyone's life. Sometimes accepting the bad of period helps to understand the situation or let it go concentrate your mind to try harder to change the circumstances.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the discussion. The ideas are presented but remain underdeveloped; for example, the argument for accepting a situation is not clearly distinguished from the argument for improving it, and the supporting examples are brief and lack sufficient detail. To improve, you must expand on your points with more specific explanations and examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between ideas are occasionally abrupt, such as the shift between the introduction and the body paragraphs. While there is a logical progression of ideas, the lack of development makes the overall flow feel disjointed. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'improvised similar situations' (likely meaning 'improve') and 'handsome salary' (which is slightly informal). The repetition of basic terms like 'situation' and 'person' limits the sophistication of the writing. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and personal development, and practice using synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'is is better', 'the tough time like an unsatisfactory employment', and 'the bad of period'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed correctly.
