Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views, but the development is limited and repetitive. While you state your position clearly, the arguments provided are underdeveloped. For instance, the discussion on technology and unemployment is somewhat tangential to the core prompt about accepting versus improving a bad situation. The ideas lack depth and logical progression, often relying on generalizations rather than specific examples or nuanced reasoning. To improve, ensure that each paragraph directly supports your position with clear, distinct arguments rather than repeating the same sentiment about 'moving on' multiple times. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not synthesize the arguments effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'However' and 'In conclusion', they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that makes the text feel mechanical. The progression of ideas is not always clear, as the transition between the impact of technology and the advice to 'accept a bad situation' is abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds upon the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. You frequently use simple words like 'bad', 'good', and 'things', which lack the precision required for an academic essay. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'summarize it in a global village' and 'computer hold the world in a hand'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and focus on using them in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('companies demands', 'all of these things is possible'), tense usage ('people were lived'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain awkward syntax, which makes the writing difficult to read at times. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will also help to improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
