Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the view of accepting bad situations and the view of trying to improve them, while also providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial. For instance, the reasons given for accepting a bad situation—such as taking bank loans or having a single earner—are mentioned briefly without deep elaboration. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding risk-taking and creative ideas is generalized rather than supported by concrete examples or well-extended arguments. While a clear position is discernible throughout the essay, the overall depth of exploration aligns best with Band 6 descriptors, where relevant ideas are presented but remain somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a logical overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing separate viewpoints, a concluding opinion, and a final summary statement. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently faulty or mechanical. Phrases like 'To commence with', 'in additions', and 'in the world, half of the population face lot of issues' exhibit awkward referencing and transitional usage. Additionally, the progression within paragraphs can feel disjointed due to run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'Many of the masses take loans from the bank or some family has a single earning person, therefore, they fear from the risks'. These characteristics place the text firmly at Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'risk-taking potential' and 'creative ideas'. However, there is a noticeable lack of precision and frequent word-choice or collocation errors that impede natural flow, such as 'bad condition' instead of 'adverse circumstance', 'financial funds' instead of 'finances', and 'fear from the risks' instead of 'fear risks'. Furthermore, awkward phrasings like 'these type of people' and 'create a person tough' indicate limited control over lexical collocation. While communication is not severely blocked, the accumulation of inaccuracies prevents the response from reaching Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. The text contains frequent errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('individuals doesn't want', 'everything have their own pros and cons'), missing articles ('in the world, half of the population face lot of issues'), and persistent run-on sentences linked incorrectly with commas ('Everyone has their own ability and ideas for the growth of their future, in addition they also have...'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate limited structural flexibility, matching the Band 5 descriptors.
