Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on how to handle difficult situations and providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on accepting bad situations is limited to avoiding physical and mental health issues such as 'deseases such as depression, anxiety'. Similarly, the counter-argument is simplistic, relying on repetitive phrases like 'improve our weakness' and 'compete with situations'. The position is clear throughout, but the reasoning is somewhat repetitive across the body paragraphs and the concluding summary. This performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptor, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into five paragraphs, indicating an attempt at structure, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and repetitive points. Transitional phrases such as 'Moving towards remedies' and 'Following the analyzation of the above points' are used awkwardly and do not fit standard academic discourse. Cohesive devices are often inadequate or inaccurate, such as starting sentences with conjunctions or fragments (e.g., 'because if we feel misreable and crying so its will not good'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak due to disjointed sentence structures and a lack of clear referencing. This corresponds to a Band 5 level, showing some organization but lacking clear overall progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples of inaccurate terms and misspellings include 'alots', 'dissapointment', 'tolerace', 'cosideration', 'accedents', 'lose' (for loss), 'misreable', 'deseases', 'bes' (for best), and 'analyzation'. While the student attempts some topical vocabulary related to stress and perseverance (e.g., 'depression', 'anxiety', 'self-confidence'), the high frequency of lexical errors places this response firmly at Band 4, where basic vocabulary is used with errors that frequently strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent, persistent errors in punctuation, capitalization, subject-verb agreement, and word forms. Examples include 'Humans faces alots of fluctuations', 'tolerates with it' (mixed verb form), 'crying so its will not good', and fragment sentences such as 'For instance we have to compete with situations and work hard.' Punctuation is largely neglected, with sentences often beginning without capital letters and clauses incorrectly linked. These widespread errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and align with the Band 4 descriptor.
