Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views on accepting versus changing difficult situations and presents a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is incomplete, abruptly cutting off mid-sentence at 196 words, which falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Because of this under-length, the task is only partially addressed, and the development of ideas remains truncated. For instance, the conclusion and final body paragraph are missing, preventing the writer from fully exploring both sides and supporting their position adequately. According to the band descriptors, this limitation restricts the score to a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a basic structure with an introduction and two body paragraphs, although the final paragraph is incomplete. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used to signal shifts in arguments. However, paragraphing and overall progression are disrupted by the abrupt ending of the text. Referencing is occasionally weak, as seen in repetitive phrasing like 'bad situation' and unclear pronoun usage ('overcome their situation'). While there is a recognisable organisational structure, the lack of a completed conclusion and limited cohesive control place this aspect firmly in the Band 5 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, featuring attempts at less common items such as 'elucidate', 'circumstances', and 'financial difficulties'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices, such as 'trying to improver a difficult circumstances' (grammar and collocation error) and 'continuosly work on that problems'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'bechlor's'. The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic terms. These errors occasionally cause slight strain for the reader, aligning the lexical control with a Band 5.0 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures and infinitive phrases ('trying to improver a difficult circumstances is generally more beneficial'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors including subject-verb agreement issues ('Every people have'), incorrect articles ('a lack job opportunities'), and spelling/typographical slips. Furthermore, punctuation and capitalization errors are present ('However, In my opinion', lowercase 'i'). Because attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty and errors are persistent throughout the short text, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
