Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money, while others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. This essay will discuss both views before providing my point of view.
On the one hand, People believe that it is best to accept a bad situation. However, in bad situations, people suffer from anxiety, depression. This is happend when someone had bad result in exams, and eliminate from job. This is a bad phase of life, There will be need to improvement to themeselvs, people need to upgrade themeselves. if this happend in anyone life they should be attend to as many opportunity they get in life. They should accept their situation.
On the other hand, Others believe that people should try and im prove such situations, If they had a bad day they should improve themeselves and need to try as much as possible. People need to improve them to good personality , For example, when anyone get fired from his office, he need to improve him for upcoming job interview. However, in this world many people suffer from enxiety and depression when they left their job, However, it is not compalsery they should try hard to get another job.
In my perspective, people need to improve themselves when they get in anxiety, they should try more. it is better to try and improve in such situations.
In contrast, They should need to give attention in their bad phase and carry on in these situations and try harder.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both views outlined in the prompt regarding accepting versus improving difficult situations and provides a personal perspective in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times contradictory. For example, in the body paragraphs, the student states that people should accept their situation, but then immediately advises that they need to improve themselves and take up opportunities. This confusion between accepting and improving prevents the position from being fully clear and well-developed. While some relevant ideas are present, such as getting fired and preparing for interviews, the arguments are repetitive and lack sufficient extension. Consequently, the response fulfills the basic requirements of the task, but the execution of the main ideas is superficial and disjointed, aligning with Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows an awareness of structural layout. However, the overall progression of ideas is faulty. There is a lack of logical consistency between sentences and paragraphs; for instance, the phrase 'On the one hand, People believe that it is best to accept a bad situation. However, in bad situations, people suffer from anxiety...' creates confusion rather than a clear contrast. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as the repeated use of 'However' and 'In contrast' at inappropriate places. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'them' and 'they', making it difficult to follow the logical flow of arguments. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5 category for cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and occasionally inaccurate. The student frequently recycles simple words such as 'situation', 'improve', 'bad', and 'people' without demonstrating a wider lexical range. There are also noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'eliminate from job', 'attend to as many opportunity', and 'get in anxiety'. Spelling errors like 'happend', 'themeselvs', 'enxiety', and 'compalsery' also appear. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning, the frequent errors and limited range restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded up to Band 5 based on the ability to communicate simple concepts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex structures that are faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples of structural and grammatical inaccuracies include 'This is happend when someone had bad result', 'if this happend in anyone life they should be attend', and 'he need to improve him'. Run-on sentences and comma splices are also evident, such as 'If they had a bad day they should improve themeselves and need to try as much as possible.' These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning, consistent with the Band 4 descriptors.
