Student answer (Band 5.5)

The way people react to any specific situation can be different in most of the cases. A few individuals believe that it is more appropriate to accept a bad result, like doing job in field not of your interest or facing any financial difficulty. Others argue that it is important to try and work, for making such situations better.

Sometimes, the things which we consider problemetic for us results in vital developments. Most of the young people are commonly confused to identify the field of their interest and getting involved in irrelevent and disturbing situtaions are quite helpful for them. For instance, a person got a low paying job at a supermarket, making him financial unstable, but years later he came to know that he had good skills in product managing. Similarly suffering from a condition of having less money wil help in building mental level to survive, life with only basic needs.

Alternatively, alot of people consider that peace of mind is the most important feeling to have in life. If a person is god gifted with skills releated to a specific field than he must keep on trying, to work in his field of interest. As working in a profession with no personal satisfaction will not help you to grow. Moreover, earning a good amount of money is essential to enjoy all aspects of life and working hard is the key for it.

In my opinion, trying hard and working better to find a desired job and to fulfill your financial needs is a vital approach and must be adopted in order to have mental peace.

To conclude, accepting a bad job or facing lack of money helps in buliding the skills to survive better in future but in order to have peace and satisfaction in life, trying and strugling hard is very important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—accepting a bad situation versus trying to improve it—and you have provided your own clear position throughout the response. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, your first body paragraph introduces the idea that a low-paying supermarket job later reveals product management skills, but the development remains somewhat limited and reads more like a brief anecdote than an extended argument. Similarly, the alternative view discusses peace of mind and financial satisfaction, but these points could have been expanded with further explanation or examples to achieve a higher level of depth.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs, and a concluding summary that reflects your stated opinion. You use paragraphing sufficiently and appropriately to separate the different viewpoints and your personal stance. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, transition markers such as 'Alternatively' and 'To conclude' are used, but referencing and logical flow between sentences occasionally feel abrupt, such as the sudden shift into the personal example in the second paragraph without a smooth bridging phrase.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You have used an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'financial difficulty', 'vital developments', and 'personal satisfaction'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reflect this level. For instance, words like 'problemetic', 'irrelevent', 'situtaions', 'wil', 'releated', 'buliding', and 'strugling' contain spelling mistakes. Furthermore, some collocations and word forms are awkward, such as 'doing job in field', 'making him financial unstable', and 'building mental level', though these errors do not seriously impede overall communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

Your writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating structures like conditional clauses ('If a person is...') and relative clauses. There are, however, some errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the essay. These include missing or incorrect articles, such as 'a low paying job' instead of 'a low-paying job', preposition issues like 'working in a profession', and minor punctuation oversights. While these errors persist, they are relatively few and rarely impede communication, allowing your meaning to remain clear to the reader.
