Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, we see people have different thoughts about life where a few individuals believe, life will be smooth to accept poor circumstance like unsatisfy in job, as well as financial issue while others debate to try until they will improve such situations.
Low self-esteemed people often belives things could not be improve and accept the unconfortable situation when they are having job and financial issues. Moreover, they are blaming their luck for such a life which is created by their own perceptions. Reseach found that , most of the people who have less educational backgound are the main one. For example recently i have visted a slum area for my reseach where i have to ask ques about their life. There from 23 house I got 19 answers where the people do not have any plan to improve their life rather enduring their conditions.
Again, I think the people who have confidence in them and have goals and dreams are mostly try to come over their bad situation. Those human being do not blame on their fate but also belive in hard hard. If I am talking about me, i personally support the second argue where born in a middle class family, dreaming abroad is not easy. But i trust that ambitious people can find their own way to boost every worst situations. If someone is trying hard to acheive something, one day things fall the way they want. Situations are not constant, it wil change by action which I learnt from King Robert Bruce.
In conclusion, the views are varies person to person from their own experience of life. Whereas, I think, we should keep working on our way than finding which one is the best way to lead life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on accepting versus improving difficult situations and provides a personal opinion, which satisfies the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding low self-esteem and the anecdotal evidence from a slum visit are somewhat superficial and lack sufficient analytical depth to fully explore the prompt. Furthermore, the position is not always clearly sustained throughout, leading to a partial treatment of the core issues. To reach higher levels, the writer needs to present fully extended and well-supported arguments for both sides before articulating a clear and cohesive personal stance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident in the essay, as the text is divided into identifiable paragraphs representing introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, the overall progression is not always clear, and the transition between ideas can feel abrupt. Cohesive devices are sometimes used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the frequent reliance on transitional phrases like 'Again,' and 'Moreover,' without serving a strong logical function. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the exact logical flow of the argument. To improve cohesion, the writer should employ a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one with clear signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message of the essay. There are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation throughout the text, such as 'poor circumstance', 'unsatisfy in job', 'financial issue', and 'hard hard' instead of 'hard work'. These errors sometimes cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted lexical range that struggles to express precise meaning. The writer attempts to use less common items, but these attempts often result in unnatural phrasing. To achieve a stronger score, the student must expand their vocabulary range, pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations, and eliminate recurring spelling and usage errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentence forms alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'people have different thoughts about life where a few individuals believe, life will be smooth to accept poor circumstance' and 'the views are varies person to person'. These frequent errors place a heavy burden on the reader and can occasionally distort the intended meaning. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence patterns and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors by reviewing fundamental rules of punctuation and agreement.
