Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on how to handle difficult situations, such as a shortage of money or an unsatisfactory job, and includes the writer's own opinion in the conclusion. However, the task is only partially addressed due to limited development and repetition of ideas. For instance, in the introduction and first body paragraph, concepts like accepting circumstances or focusing on areas of expertise are introduced but lack detailed elaboration or specific examples. The position is generally clear by the end of the essay, but the overall presentation of ideas is restricted, placing this criterion at the indicated level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic organization to the essay, featuring an introduction, separate body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is often hindered by mechanical or inaccurate use of cohesive devices, such as starting sentences with 'while someindividuals thinks' and 'Accepting the situation is the batter way and more reliable this what some people believe'. Paragraphing is attempted, but referencing and transitions between ideas are repetitive, creating a disjointed reading experience that reflects the characteristics of this level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of these lexical slips include 'satifactory', 'tthero', 'improving ourselfs', 'disatisfactory', and 'batter'. While the writer attempts to use some less common vocabulary related to the prompt, such as 'circumstances' and 'excel in that domain', these attempts are undermined by persistent spelling mistakes and awkward collocations, keeping the lexical score at this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences and attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation throughout the text, such as 'someindividuals thinks', 'people's are arguing to about', and run-on sentences like 'along. In conclusion, i strongly believe that one should always have eagerness to upgrade ourself'. These persistent grammatical inaccuracies can cause difficulty and strain for the reader, placing this criterion firmly at the specified band.
