Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals think that the best way to tackle bad situation is doing nothing just accept it, such as poverty and unemployment. other thinks that it is good idea strive and struggle to improve such situation. Its mainly because many people believe on luck and other believe on hardwork and struggle. I agree with hardworking rather than luck.

Firstly, many individuals believe on their luck and origin, they think that our situation will be better when the right time will come, they do not like input their efforts they accept the situation doesn't matter what type of situation it is. It is mainly because of mindset, the way they nurtured, the way the brought up are associated with their thinking due to their parents taught them. In Pakistan there are millions of people currently they are suffering from pverty and unemployments they does want change their life.

Secondly, there are people in the world they cannot accept their bad situation, they do hardwork and stay consistent on the way of progress, they believe that evey human has capacity to change their life rather than depend on luck because the best time will never come. The famous football player Cristo Ronaldo who actually born in a poor family with lack of money and resources, but he tackle his bad situation with patient and hardworking and achieved his goal in his life and become the greatest of all time. I also believe that luck is nothing if you want to change your life and come out from the bad situation, the only thing works and authentic which is hardwork and stay consistent.

In conclusion, many individuals accept their bad situation because they believe on luck while other trys to improve their situation with hardwork and patient. In my perspective the right time will never come, its in your hand not believe on luck just do your best and stay consistent and you will probably tackle the bad situation

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on how to deal with bad situations and providing a clear personal opinion. The arguments presented are relevant, but some ideas lack full extension and are somewhat under-developed. For example, while the point about mindset and upbringing is introduced in the second paragraph, it is not fully explored before moving to the example of Pakistan. Similarly, the example of Cristiano Ronaldo is used well to support the view on hard work, but the analysis remains basic. To reach a higher band, the ideas would need more thorough explanation, clearer elaboration, and a more consistent depth of discussion throughout all body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the opposing views, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. The transitions between sentences feel abrupt at times, and referencing is not always clear, such as in the opening sentence of the second body paragraph where pronouns and connecting links are missing. Paragraphing is used to separate the different viewpoints, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs requires more careful linking. To move up, the writer needs to ensure that cohesive devices are used more smoothly to guide the reader effortlessly through the progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating central ideas about poverty, unemployment, and hard work. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'consistency' and 'perspective', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, including phrases like 'doing nothing just accept it', 'pverty', and 'unemployments'. Spelling and morphological errors occur throughout the text, such as 'Cristo Ronaldo' instead of Cristiano, and 'hardworking' used as a noun. While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they restrict the score because they show limited precision and a need for better control over lexical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles. Examples include sentences like 'other thinks that it is good idea strive' and 'millions of people currently they are suffering'. Tense consistency and preposition usage within grammatical patterns also show regular flaws. Although the meaning can generally be understood, these structural inaccuracies place the grammar firmly in the middle band, as the control over complex structures remains inconsistent and error-prone.
