Student answer (Band 6.0)

Certain individuals argue that it is good to accept a bad condition for example, a job that is not satisfactory or shortage of money while some thinks that it is best to try and enhance such situations. I believe that it is better to make several attempts to make situations favourable.

Few persons argue to accept the bad situations because they probably think it might be a risk to change the situation according to themselves. For example, when these people are dealing with the jobs with which they are unhappy they will not make any attempt to improve the situation because they don't wanna take any risk to destroy whatever they have, they may have a fear that their job might be lost. In contrast, some individuals try to improve the unsatisfactory conditions by making several attempts. For example, these kind of persons may look for other job opportunities which they find satisfactory. These people are brave enough to take risks and make a good situation from my point of view.

The public which usually adapt their selves accordingly to the situation believes that the bad situation they are facing is most likely to be a part of their fortune and they cannot change it by themselves. For example, when these people face shortage of money they dont try to upgrade their financial level while believing that it must be their fortune. On the other hands when others face the same problem they put into their efforts to double the amount they have by believing that fortune can be changed by efforts.

In conclusion, different people have different perspectives according to the situation. I firmly believe that a person should make his best efforts to get rid of the bad situation and make situation favourable according to himself.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your own position clearly: the introduction says you favour making attempts to improve difficult circumstances, and the conclusion restates this. The examples of changing jobs and trying to improve one’s finances are relevant to the prompt. However, the two views are not explored equally in depth. The discussion of acceptance mainly attributes it to fear of risk or belief in fate, while the case for trying to improve circumstances is asserted more than explained. Develop the reasoning by showing when accepting a situation might be sensible, and explain more specifically how effort can lead to improvement. This would make the response’s relevant ideas clearer and more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from fear of change to beliefs about fortune gives the discussion a recognisable direction, and examples help connect claims to the topic. Some links, however, feel mechanical or unclear. For instance, “In contrast” introduces the opposing view, but the next paragraph shifts to fortune without clearly explaining how this develops the earlier comparison. Repeated openings such as “For example” and “These people” also make the cohesion somewhat repetitive, while “The public which usually adapt their selves” is difficult to follow as a reference. Use clearer topic sentences and vary linking and referencing so each paragraph’s relationship to the argument is explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unsatisfactory,” “opportunities,” “financial level” and “fortune.” There are also attempts to use less common expressions, such as “make situations favourable,” but some choices are unnatural or imprecise. “Bad condition” and “enhance such situations” do not sound idiomatic in this context, and “double the amount they have” is an unclear way to describe improving finances. Informal wording such as “wanna” is unsuitable for an academic essay, and “their selves” is an inaccurate form. Aim for more natural collocations and a consistently formal register; this will make your meaning more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “when” and “while,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain across the response. For example, “some thinks” has subject–verb disagreement, while “these kind of persons” has a number mismatch. In “The public which usually adapt,” the verb does not agree with the subject, and the relative clause is awkwardly formed. There are also missing articles in phrases such as “shortage of money” and “make situation favourable.” Review agreement, articles and singular/plural forms, and proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the complex sentences you are already attempting.
