Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by some people that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money because these situations came in every person's life and a person should be patient. While others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations because every person wants to live a luxurious life. Before presenting my opinion, let us examine both these views carefully.
On the one hand, the supporters of accepting bad sitaution believes that it cames in every person's life and a person should be patient and learn through such type of situations. These situations gave a person a new spirit to become succesful in life. Although, such type of difficulties test a person's patience and make them stronger. However, people should remain patience and never lose hope because challanges make them stronger and help them succeed in life.
On the other hand, the supporters of trying and improving such situations believes that every person in life wants to become luxurious and powerful. They thought if they would not accept bad situation, there status and power decreased. One significant benifit to try and improve such situations is that people have to incraesed thier knowlege through this and they have an ability to handle such type of situation in future.
However in my opinon, accepting bad situation is very benificial for us because we learn something new and we aslo work with new spirit to achieve our goal and become succesful in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views and state your opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. However, the discussion is only partial: the first view is explained mainly through patience and personal growth, while the second is linked to wanting a luxurious life and gaining knowledge, without a clear explanation of how people can improve a job or financial situation. Your opinion favours acceptance, but it is brief and not fully supported. The response contains 228 words, below the 250-word minimum; the 23 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each view with a specific example and explain why your preferred approach is more convincing to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “However in my opinion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas repeat the claim that difficulties make people stronger or successful. Some links are also unclear: “They thought if they would not accept bad situation, there status and power decreased” does not clearly connect to the argument for improving circumstances. Use fewer repeated transitions, make each sentence develop the previous point, and clarify references such as “they” to create a more coherent progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “accept,” “improve,” “patience,” “succeed,” and “handle.” These choices make the general meaning understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “such type of situations” and “become luxurious and powerful.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “sitaution,” “succesful,” “challanges,” “benifit,” and “knowlege,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, you could refer to “financial hardship,” “job dissatisfaction,” or “seek better employment” rather than repeating broad phrases about bad situations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast structure beginning “While others argue…” and a conditional sentence beginning “if they would not accept…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “the supporters … believes,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “a person should be patient” following a plural reference. Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “accepting bad situation” and the opening sentence, which joins several ideas without clear control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and conditional forms, then check each sentence for a clear main clause and correct punctuation.
