Student answer (Band 6.5)
People have different opinions about how to deal with difficulties. While some believe that accecpting an unsatisfactory job or financial issue iis the best approach. Other argue that individuals shoudl make afforts to enhance ycircumstances. This essay will discuss both these views, but i belive that trying to make positive changes is generally a better choice.
On the one hand, accepting a difficult situation can help people to maintain peace and avoid unnescessary stress. Some individuals have limited opportunities to change their circumstances, patricularly when jobs are scarce and econnmy is struggling. For example, a person who can not find a better job may prefer working in their current position rather than remain umployed. Similaraly, people who face face financial problems may need to acccept their postion temporary and manage their household expenses carefully. Therefore, accepting situation can be a practical situation when immediate improvement are not possible.
On the other hand, making effort to tackle the difficult situation can lead to better opportunities and improve the standard of living. If people simple accept circumstances, they may miss opportunities to develop their skills and achieve goal. For example, an employee who is unhappy with his salary or want a promotion can learn professional courses and gain their skills to qualify for well piad position. Likewsie, people with financial problems can reduce unnescessary spending and search for additional source of income.
In conclusion, accepting difficult circumstance can sometime better, esoecially when people have no other choice. But i believe that taking steps to improve situation is benefical for individuals future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response addresses both sides of the question and gives a clear opinion: the introduction favours making positive changes, and the conclusion restates that view while acknowledging that acceptance can sometimes be necessary. Relevant support is provided, including the example of staying in a job when alternatives are scarce and the suggestions to gain skills or seek extra income. These examples help extend the main points. However, some reasoning remains general: the essay could explain more fully when accepting a situation is a sensible temporary choice, and how the proposed actions can realistically improve someone’s circumstances. Developing those implications would make the discussion more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from acceptance to active improvement is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the organisation explicit. Examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. Some linking is a little mechanical, however, and the second body paragraph would benefit from clearer connections between its examples and the claim about improving living standards. There is also a slightly abrupt shift from discussing job skills to financial strategies. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main point more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “limited opportunities,” “standard of living,” “professional courses,” and “additional source of income.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but control is weakened by frequent spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations, such as “gain their skills,” “well piad position,” and “accepting situation.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases. More precise choices, such as “develop their skills” and “a better-paid position,” would make the argument sound more fluent and appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening (“While some believe…”) and conditional structures (“If people simple accept circumstances…”). The overall meaning remains clear, and the paragraphs are mostly formed with complete sentences. Some grammatical errors persist, however, particularly with sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “While some believe … financial issue is the best approach” is left as a dependent clause rather than joined to the following sentence, and “immediate improvement are not possible” has incorrect agreement. In “an employee … want a promotion,” the verb does not agree with its subject. Review clause structure and subject–verb agreement, and proofread punctuation to improve accuracy.
