Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few individuals believe that it is best to admit a unsatisfactory condition, such as an unpleasant job or bad financial condition. While, other argues that it is better to try and solve such problems. According to my opinion, accepting temporary failure or discomfort is crucial to understand the importance of growth. I will discuss both the views in following paragraph.

To begin with, every individual has their own life journey that has ups and down. For an instance, a person with a great family support still feel pressurised in a proffessional environment leading to discomfort. Similarly, a wealthy family man can get affected by unwanted health issues that makes the person depressed even after having so much of wealth and family support. Which means that one can have other support or benefit yet situation can trouble the same individual creating discomfort.

But on the other hand, accepting defeat is not the proper solution. one should always try to figure out how can the situation improve. Moreover, these situation are the reason that shows how life can get better when everything gets over. Every individual should focus on solving the issues and later understanding and being grateful for having all the problem being solved.

To conclude, i would strongly state that both the situation are important in ones life to accept the situation and then solving the problem and understand how it is goping to be impactful for one's life. If one individual never get out of its comfort zone then they never understand how good is their life as compared to others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a personal position: you argue that accepting difficulty can help people recognise growth, but that they should also try to improve their circumstances. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first body paragraph describes pressures such as work and health problems, but does not clearly explain why accepting a bad situation may be the best response. The second paragraph supports taking action, yet its reasoning remains general, particularly in “these situation are the reason that shows how life can get better.” Your conclusion combines acceptance and problem-solving, but the relationship between these ideas and your overall position is not fully clear. Explain each view directly, support it with a specific example, and state more precisely when acceptance or action is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “But on the other hand,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the examples of family support, work pressure and health issues do not consistently connect to the argument about accepting a bad situation. Some linking is mechanical, and “Which means that” begins a sentence fragment rather than smoothly developing the previous point. The conclusion also introduces the idea of comparing one’s life with others without preparing it earlier. Make each paragraph focus on one view, and use clear references and explanations to show how each example supports that view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfactory,” “discomfort,” “professional environment,” “financial condition,” and “comfort zone.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “admit a … condition,” “great family support,” and “having all the problem being solved.” Repetition of “situation,” “individual,” and “problem” also makes the discussion less precise. There are spelling errors, including “proffessional” and “goping,” which reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural phrases for discussing hardship and change, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “While,” “that,” and “when.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “a person … still feel” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “Which means that…” is a sentence fragment. In “these situation are,” the plural form is incorrect, and “one should always try to figure out how can the situation improve” uses incorrect word order in an embedded question. There are also problems with articles, such as “a unsatisfactory condition,” and inconsistent capitalisation of sentence openings and “I.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and indirect-question word order before adding more complex clauses.
