Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people really belives that it is better fot thenm to accept a bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or a shortage of money.Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.

On one hand people usually don not accept a bad situation and just complain about it they all don not want to live in a bad situation and some who accepts the situation relly falls on acceptance they think thet good days are not ment to be and most of them ended up destroying their lives.people who argue that it is better to try and improvr such situations are the persons who suceed and ended up living a good life.It is good to accept a situations you should have guts to face a bad time but sticking to it and thinking theat it will never ends is not the thing to do.If you are having a bad time you should accept thet do not be worried just try, try and try again until you suceed becuase it is useless to cry over spilt milk but trying and improving such situations can ended up living a life with no regrets and can get you out from bad time,For example if you had not attaind the marks you expected in exams if you sit in regret and stop studying that i can not achive you will fall apart except that accept the situation and work hard for nrxt time will make you suceed one day.

At my prospective, you should accept the situation but do not stick to it just accept the situation and always try to improve such situations in life it will make you suceed one day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal position: you acknowledge accepting a difficult situation, then argue that people should try to improve it. The exam-results example also supports your view with a relevant illustration. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view is described mainly as passive acceptance leading to a poor life, rather than explaining why someone might reasonably accept circumstances they cannot change. Your final position—accept the situation but do not remain stuck in it—is understandable, but it could be stated more clearly and consistently. Develop both sides with balanced reasons and explain the limits of personal effort, such as when a job or financial problem cannot be changed immediately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic overall shape: an introduction, a discussion beginning with “On one hand,” an example, and a concluding opinion. The example about exam results is connected to your argument and helps the reader follow your main point. However, most of the response is placed in one very long paragraph, so the two views and your own position are not clearly separated. The opening also promises a contrast, but the discussion does not clearly develop the opposing view. Linking phrases such as “just,” “and,” and repeated forms of “accept the situation” do not always show how ideas relate. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make the progression between reasons and examples explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “bad situation,” “improve,” “acceptance,” “regret,” and “work hard.” These choices make your general message understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “accept the situation” and “try.” There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “belives,” “suceed,” and “achive,” and some expressions are not natural in this context, including “falls on acceptance” and “at my prospective.” These issues make the writing less precise and can slow the reader. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing hardship, persistence, and practical limits, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining that a person should accept a setback but continue trying. This shows an effort to use more than short, simple statements. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “people usually don not accept … and just complain,” “some who accepts,” and “trying and improving such situations can ended up.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also weak: the main discussion runs together, with commas joining several complete ideas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal verbs and gerunds, and dividing long sentences into clear units. More controlled sentence patterns would make your argument easier to understand.
