Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response introduces both viewpoints and gives a relevant reason for accepting difficult circumstances: avoiding stress and preserving peace of mind. However, it develops only this side of the discussion. The view that people should try to improve their situation is mentioned in the introduction but receives no explanation or example, and your own opinion is not clearly stated. The response also falls substantially short of the required minimum length, leaving the task incomplete. To strengthen your answer, explain both positions, state which you support, and develop each main point with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic organisational structure: an opening introduces the issue, followed by a paragraph beginning “On the one hand” that explains one viewpoint. This gives the reader some sense of direction, and the ideas within that paragraph are related. However, the response ends without a contrasting paragraph or conclusion, so the discussion does not progress through all parts of the task. The linking phrases “Meanwhile,” “On the one hand,” and “Moreover” help connect points, but the overall progression remains incomplete. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, then add a brief conclusion that brings the argument together.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unnecessary stress,” “anxiety,” “emotional pressure,” and “peace of mind,” which helps communicate the central idea. However, the range is limited in this short response, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a condition like shortage of moneyy is a good” and “positive aspect of the lives.” Spelling errors such as “Moreever” and “accpting” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing hardship and responses to it, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, use natural phrases such as “financial hardship” and “accepting reality.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes a few attempts at complex sentences, particularly the explanation beginning “This is because,” and the sentence about accepting reality. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. In “that accept a condition … is a good,” the verb form and sentence construction are faulty; “it better for yourself” is missing a verb; and “This is because of constantly struggling” uses an incorrect structure. Articles and plural forms also need attention, as in “the positive aspect of the lives.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then use structures such as “because + subject + verb” and check that every clause has a complete verb.
