Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and give a clear preference for trying to improve one’s circumstances, especially in the conclusion. The example of Umair also supports the view that people may accept unsatisfactory work because of family responsibilities. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the first view receives a detailed personal example, while the second is supported mainly by general statements such as “take risk and do your best.” The conclusion is unfinished (“because no”), which leaves your final reasoning incomplete. To strengthen the response, explain more fully why accepting a difficult situation can sometimes be sensible, and give a specific reason or example showing how people can improve it. State your position clearly and consistently from the introduction onward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal this organisation, and the example about Umair is placed in the paragraph supporting acceptance. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In first you accept the bad situation” does not clearly connect the earlier point to the advice that follows. The final sentence stops abruptly, weakening the overall ending. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each explanation to the main claim with explicit reasoning. Check that pronouns such as “this” and “it” have clear references, and ensure each paragraph develops one central idea in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial support,” “inflation,” “poverty,” “sacrificed his desires,” and “take a risk.” These choices help communicate the pressures behind accepting an unsatisfactory job and the possibility of seeking change. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts of the response harder to understand, such as “accept your bad time,” “financial fortunes,” and “get pay according to his hardwork.” Spelling errors, including “financal,” “necessily,” and “brillant,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for employment and financial circumstances, and check collocations and spelling. For instance, use “difficult circumstances” rather than “bad time,” and “earn a salary that reflects his skills” rather than “get pay according to his hardwork.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a complex explanation beginning “just because of its…” and the conditional idea “If you take a risk for improvement…” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “some believes,” “he want give his family,” and “I saw many people that suffered,” which show problems with agreement, verb forms, and clause construction. The conclusion also contains an incomplete sentence: “no find gap take risk…” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need more control. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly linked subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
