Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall preference for improving a difficult situation, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you include examples such as learning skills or seeking another job. However, the discussion of accepting a bad situation is not clearly explained: the sentence beginning “accepting a bad situation can sometimes be helpful” shifts into the stress people feel when trying to change things, so the opposing view remains unclear. The main argument for improvement is repeated rather than extended, and several points—such as earning money, gaining qualifications, and building a future—are not explained in a precise way. To strengthen the response, explain why someone might accept a situation, then compare that reason with your own view and develop each point with a clear example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the response moves from an introduction to two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and “on the other hand” signals a change in viewpoint. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated and connections are often unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from stress to job opportunities, money, skills, and diplomas without showing how these points support accepting a bad situation. The second paragraph repeats the same list of skills, diplomas, and jobs. Use one main idea per paragraph, arrange supporting details in a logical order, and make pronouns such as “they” and “our” refer clearly to the people being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “bad situation,” “skills,” “jobs,” and “future,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and many words or phrases are repeated, particularly “try,” “change,” “improve,” and “our lives.” Several choices or spellings make the intended meaning difficult to understand, such as “fashion” where you appear to mean a way of improving life, and “diplomaes.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “hard worked” and “job related diplomas.” Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; this will help you express the contrast between accepting circumstances and taking practical steps to improve them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “when,” but these structures are often faulty, and much of the response relies on loosely connected clauses. Verb forms and agreement are frequent problems: “people can feel stress when they accepting,” “someone cannot changes,” and “they can tryed” do not follow standard patterns. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, while missing punctuation makes several sentences hard to parse. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, infinitives after modal verbs (“can change”), and consistent tense choices.
