Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowaday people has different views about dealing difficult life situations. While some believe that it is better to accept tough situation such as an rewarding job or financial trouble. Others think that individuals should make efforts to change them. In my opinion, although acceptance bring mental peace, taking action to improve the situation is a far better choice.

One the one hand, some people prefer to accept their negative circumstances. Firstly, fighting against a bad situation all the time can lead to extreme mental stress and depression. If a person continuously worries about not having money they may lose peace of mind and damage their health. Therefore, accepting reality allow individuals to be satisfy with what they have and live peacefully. For instance, many people with low paying jobs learn to budget their expenses strictly which prevents them from getting into debt or taking unnecessary financial risks.

On other hand, different groups argue that striving to overcome hardships is essential for personal growth. If everyone simply accepted their bad situation than nobody achieve success in life. When workers are unhappy with their current employment they can upgrade their skills, complete online certification, or look for better opportunities in the market which helps in self development. Similarly, individuals suffering from shortage of funds and toxic environment without attempting to change it can destroy ambition and career prospects. Proactive individual not only solves their immediate problems but also builds resilience and confidence to tackle future challenges.

In conclusion, although expecting an adverse situation can temporarily safeguard an individual's emotional well-being during unavoidable prices, settling for less is harmful. from my prospective, individuals should ways to overcome their difficulties and look for better opportunities. An active effort is a key to achieving fulfilling and successful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear opinion: acceptance may protect mental well-being, but taking action is ultimately better. The examples about budgeting, developing skills and seeking better employment are relevant and help explain each position. This meets the task well, though some points are more fully developed than others. For example, the discussion of acceptance explains its emotional benefit, while the claim that accepting hardship can damage ambition and career prospects is asserted more than explained. The conclusion also introduces “unavoidable prices,” which is unclear and does not neatly summarise the argument. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences behind each main claim and ensure the conclusion restates your position precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from the benefits of acceptance to the case for action is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, although some linking is mechanical and a few references are unclear. “On other hand” needs the article “the,” while “Similarly” introduces a point that is not clearly parallel to the preceding example. The final sentence also follows an unclear conclusion statement. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and check that each pronoun or linking phrase has an unmistakable reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “mental stress,” “financial trouble,” “self development,” “resilience,” and “career prospects.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but noticeable word-choice, collocation and word-form errors limit precision and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “an rewarding job,” “shortage of funds,” “unavoidable prices,” and “expecting an adverse situation”; the intended meanings are not always clear or natural. Spelling and form also need attention in “Nowaday” and “Proactive individual.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking whether a word expresses the intended meaning in context. More precise phrasing would make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a useful mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional sentences such as “If a person continuously worries…” and clauses beginning with “While” and “although.” However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur often enough to affect accuracy. For example, “people has” should be “people have,” “acceptance bring” should be “acceptance brings,” and “accepting reality allow” should be “accepting reality allows.” In “If everyone simply accepted their bad situation than nobody achieve success,” the conditional structure and verb form are faulty. The conclusion also contains an incomplete construction: “individuals should ways to overcome.” Review subject–verb agreement and conditional patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly formed clause.
