Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people accepted bad situations as it is their fate, but some working on improving such conditions. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both views and then I will give my opinion.
Firstly, the people who accepted the bad situations are old minded people, they believe that our mistakes will become the lesson for the upcoming generation. They do not work for money, they only have interest in work therefore they do it and then facing the bad situations as usual. Facing the bad situations became their habbit and they also enjoyed it, therefore they do not work on their bad situations, and also they do not need money, they also like to hurt theirself therefore they generating the bad situations.
Secondly, some people are working on their bad situations and try to improve them. In the modern era, everyone need money for their future so, thats why they do not compromise on such conditions and improve them. They are new minded people, I also like their thoughts, ways and ideas that how to overcome their problems.
According to my knowledge, second option is best. It is the best way to improve life styles and build better future. Personally. I also do it most of the time and I also learn from my mistakes and improve them next time. Firstly, we accepted the bad situations and then work on it and improve it, according to my experience, it is an excellent way to improve bad situations.
To sum up, firstly acception and then improvement is the best way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in “the second option is best.” However, the discussion is only partly developed. The explanation of acceptance relies on broad claims—for example, that people who accept hardship are “old minded” or “like to hurt theirself”—rather than explaining why someone might realistically choose acceptance, such as limited opportunities or prioritising stability. The improvement view is also general: the claim that people need money for the future is not supported with a specific example or consequence. Your final position that acceptance can come before improvement adds some nuance, but it is not clearly reconciled with your preference for the second view. Develop and support each side more carefully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “Firstly” and “Secondly,” a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the main stages easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are repeated rather than connected or extended. In the first body paragraph, the claims about learning from mistakes, enjoying hardship, and not needing money do not form a clear line of reasoning. Linking phrases such as “therefore” and “also” are used repeatedly, sometimes without showing a logical relationship. The conclusion repeats the idea of accepting and then improving circumstances but does not clearly summarise the two views. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting point to the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the broad topic, with relevant terms such as “bad situations,” “overcome their problems,” and “improve life styles.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “bad situations” and “improve.” Some word choices or forms are inaccurate and can make the meaning difficult to interpret: “old minded,” “acception,” and “hurt theirself” are not appropriate expressions in this context. Spelling and informal forms such as “habbit” and “thats” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise language to distinguish between accepting circumstances and actively changing them, and check collocations and spelling. For example, “unsatisfactory circumstances” and “make an effort to improve” would express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “some working on improving” needs a finite verb, while “everyone need money” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence joins two independent ideas with a comma, and “Personally. I also do it” has incorrect punctuation. Other examples include “they generating the bad situations” and “we accepted the bad situations and then work on it,” where verb forms and agreement are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use a wider range of structures only when you can control them.
