Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The opening identifies the two broad positions—accepting a difficult situation and trying to improve it—and the conclusion attempts to state a view. However, the response does not actually discuss either position: the body paragraphs contain only the headings “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” with no reasons, examples, or explanation. The opinion, “all point are viable,” is also unclear and is not supported, so the task is addressed only minimally. The response is 86 words, below the required 250, which leaves the main parts of the task undeveloped. To improve, explain why someone might accept a bad situation, why another person might seek change, and give a clear, supported opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph, two signposted body sections, and a concluding phrase. This shows awareness of a discussion-essay structure. However, the body sections are empty, so there is no progression of ideas or connection between supporting points. The conclusion begins “To sum up” but does not resolve the discussion, and “However,” is left unfinished. Linking expressions such as “On top of that” and “Despite the difference between the viewpoint” are used, but they do not create a clear logical relationship. Develop each paragraph around one main idea, then use linking phrases to show how the explanation and examples support it.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response attempts some topic-related vocabulary, including “critical condition,” “shortage of money,” “viewpoint,” and “perspectives.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond very basic language. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes the intended meaning less clear: “trust it is good way to approve a critical condition” does not convey the idea of accepting a difficult situation, and “try in addition inhance” is unclear. There are also spelling errors such as “importan,” “basad,” and “verdicit.” Use precise, natural collocations and check spelling; for example, “accept a difficult situation” and “take steps to improve it” fit the task directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes a few attempts at longer structures, such as “Despite the difference between the viewpoint” and “based on the discussion which has been represented,” as well as a simple concluding sentence. However, the first construction is a fragment, and the final “However,” is not completed. There are also errors in sentence formation and agreement, as in “all point are viable,” while the opening sentence has an unclear grammatical structure. Punctuation does not consistently separate complete ideas; for instance, “Despite the difference between the viewpoint.” is punctuated as a sentence even though it cannot stand alone. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation before submitting.
