Student answer (Band 4.5)

As we know that life is bed of thorns not a bed of roses. All we have to struggle to make our life more desirable. No one did for your life. You have to do your own self. As we know life is full of unexpectation. All of us have very much expectation from life . Now we have to discuss two types of people. one is who always remain unsatisfy form life. He always expect good material from the life but life doesn't remain same . He never thanks to God for life but he remains unsatisfy .

On the other hand who said that one time failure does not mean that you are the looser .But it is the part of success and also the first step of success. The person who invented bulb, he has tried 1000 times to make himself successful to achieve goal. He said that he doesn't fail but he finds 1000 more ways to become successful. It is great motivation that one a failure never decides that you are looser person .Life is beautiful if you have a great patience .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You introduce the general idea that life involves struggle and refer to people who remain dissatisfied and to failure as part of success. However, the response only partially addresses the prompt: it does not clearly explain why someone might accept an unsatisfactory job or financial hardship, and the opposing view is presented mainly through a general story about inventing the bulb. Your own opinion is not fully stated; “On my opinion that life is full of struggles” does not clearly say whether people should accept or improve difficult circumstances. The response is also 53 words below the required minimum, leaving little space to develop both views. Explain each position directly, support it with relevant examples, and state your view clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: “On the other hand” signals a shift to the second view, and the ideas about dissatisfaction and perseverance are grouped into separate sections. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening repeats broad statements about life before establishing the two positions in the question. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, and the final sentence does not provide a developed conclusion. For example, the bulb anecdote appears without a clear link to improving a bad job or financial situation. Use one paragraph for each view, followed by a conclusion, and make each paragraph’s main point explicit. Clearer links between claims and examples would improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “failure,” “success,” “struggle,” “expectation,” and “motivation.” These words help communicate the general theme, but the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “bed of thorns,” “full of unexpectation,” “remain unsatisfy,” and “the looser”; more natural expressions would be “a bed of thorns,” “unpredictable,” “remain dissatisfied,” and “loser.” The repeated use of “life” and “success” also limits variety. Build a more precise set of phrases for the prompt, such as “financial hardship,” “job dissatisfaction,” “accept one’s circumstances,” and “take steps to improve one’s situation.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes mostly short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect ideas using clauses, as in “He always expect good material from the life but life doesn't remain same.” These attempts show some willingness to form longer sentences, but errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “As we know that life is bed of thorns” has an unnecessary “that” and missing articles, while “No one did for your life” has an unclear verb construction. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, such as “He always expect” and the run-on around “looser .But.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses with correct agreement, articles, and punctuation.
