Student answer (Band 5.5)

Bad Situations are like an unforseen incidents that strikes an individuals life at any moment of the cycle. During these difficult phases some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. while orther side of the society argues that it is better to try and fight those difficult situations. This essay will unfold both the views and will conclude in the righteous opinion.

On one hand, few people in the society have already accepted that the bad situations that come in their way are because of their fate and they decide to accept their situation rather than trying to improve those. For example, some of the candidates do not secure their dream job which makes their survival difficult due to lesser earnings, such situations make them belive that the job they got is the right one and if they leave that job they will live in a fear of not finding another job.

On the other hand, the other side of the society believes that fighting the bad situations helps an individual acquire a better results. They try and improve the current situation by waiting and thinking of the best possible ways to turn the conditions and tackcle their problems. For instance, a person working with unsatisfactory salary, they do not just sit and wait for their salary to rise they try and make earring from the side hustle, which helps with their day to day lifestyle.

In conclusion, I belive that even though our fate is already written, but working and tackling the worst situations can surely help an individual grow as a person and make them stronger and it can automatically change its fate.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a personal position: the body paragraphs explain accepting an unsatisfactory job and trying to improve one’s circumstances, while the conclusion supports taking action. These examples are relevant, and the response stays focused on the question. However, the two views are not explored equally in depth. The acceptance paragraph mainly describes fear of leaving a job, without considering why accepting a difficult situation might be sensible or beneficial. The improvement paragraph gives a clearer example, but “side hustle” is not developed beyond helping with daily expenses. Your opinion is present, though the claim that fate is already written sits somewhat uneasily beside the argument for changing circumstances. Clarify this relationship and extend the reasoning behind each view to make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and each body paragraph has a relevant example. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because the repeated references to “the society” and “the other side” do not identify people precisely. Some links between ideas are also unclear: “such situations make them believe” has an uncertain reference, and the conclusion’s “but” construction makes the relationship between fate and effort difficult to follow. Use clearer pronouns and connect each example explicitly to the view it supports, rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “unsatisfactory job,” “survival,” “earnings,” and “side hustle,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “difficult phases” and “acquire a better results,” but some are inaccurate or unnatural. Spelling errors such as “unforseen,” “belive,” and “tackcle” are noticeable, and phrases including “at any moment of the cycle” and “turn the conditions” do not express the intended meaning naturally. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they reduce precision. Focus on accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; simpler, natural phrasing is more effective than an ambitious expression used incorrectly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “which” and “even though,” and the main message remains understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “a person working with unsatisfactory salary, they do not just sit” is a sentence fragment followed by an unclear pronoun structure; it could be recast as “A person earning an unsatisfactory salary does not simply wait for a raise.” In “a better results,” the article and plural noun do not agree, while “even though … but” combines two contrasting structures unnecessarily. Capitalisation after a full stop and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate complex sentences and proofreading agreement and punctuation.
