IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some hold the opinion that individuals should not rely on their current state, they need work hard for transforming their life, whereas others belived they should own the situation.
One prominent reason would be for the statement of accepting the current situation is that compatability on employee recruitment. At present, it is quite hard to find a suitable work and the competion between candidates are increasing at a higher rate. As a result, people need to adjust with their current job without considering the difficulties they face on their workplace. For example, Bangladesh, a overpopulated country, has a remarkable number of unemployment, consequently, in public and private sector recruitment, there are noticeable propotion of candidates, for one position 1000 people register to enroll. Overall, by considering the current state of competion on recruitment , people should accept their present situation.
By contrast, people have opinion on improving the situation because they beileve being consistence can lead a greater improvement in persons' life. consistency is the key to success, with this people can achieve everything in their life by trying hard and giving time to a specific task. For instance, a worker can develop skills which is related to the present career by using technology or from current workplace following the leader instruction. The improvement will take time but it will lead to a greater success. Thus, for achiving prosperous life one should be consistence on every task they want to have in their life.
In my opinion, people need to work hard and adapt consistency so that they can improve their life while doing the current job nevertheless, unemployment can create worse situation.
Summming up, I would like to reiterate the fact that everyone should be consistence to achieve greater success.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal position: the first body paragraph argues that people may need to accept a job because competition is intense, while the second supports improving one’s circumstances through persistence and skill development. Your opinion also favours working to improve life while keeping a current job. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The recruitment example from Bangladesh supports accepting a job, but the link between this and accepting a generally bad situation could be explained more clearly. The improvement paragraph focuses mainly on consistency and career skills, with little discussion of other situations such as financial hardship. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a more specific supporting example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “By contrast,” “For instance,” and “Thus” help signal the direction of the argument, and the ideas are generally understandable in sequence. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Thus” and “Overall,” and the conclusion repeats the idea of consistency rather than bringing the two views together. Some connections are also unclear: the final clause about unemployment does not explain how it qualifies your opinion. Use referencing and transitions more selectively, and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to employment and personal development, including “recruitment,” “unemployment,” “candidates,” and “prosperous life.” These choices show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “compatability,” “competion,” “propotion,” and “consistence.” Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “adjust with their current job” and “a greater improvement in persons' life.” Aim to learn accurate forms and common collocations as complete phrases, and avoid repeating “consistency” and “success” when a more precise expression would clarify your point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “whereas,” and “which.” This allows you to express reasons and examples, but attempts at longer structures are often faulty, and errors can make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “the competion between candidates are increasing” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “a worker can develop skills which is related” has a mismatch between the plural noun and verb. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “Bangladesh, a overpopulated country” and the comma splice in “consistency is the key to success, with this…”. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation, and divide long sentences when their relationships are unclear.
