Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that it is best to accept the bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. In my perspective keep on going for better opportunities is a better option.

In my point of view people stay at one place, who don’t want to come out of their comfort zone . Some people want to do the same routine work they don’t want to do experiments ,they live happy in their surroundings. For example, if a person stays at one job for a Longer period of time then they will be habitual of that environment as well as with the work they are doing. Some people live happily with their earnings they don’t want to earn more the think that is enough for their survival. Further more some individuals don’t want to do hard work or the new experiments with new job that’s why they stay at one place and compromise with the situations.

However, some people don’t want to live with the flow, they want to earn more and live wealthy life. They always do hard work learn new skills and change their job to earn more. For example, when an individual switch to new job , they learn new skills and may be they get enough money for their new job. This shifting make them to do hard work they become more energetic can improve their abilities. At the end they become proficient and leaders in their respective fields.

To sum up, staying at one place and compromise with situations is not a good approach. To live a healthy and happy life , weather is essential. For that when you do hard work it is better for your professional life as well as for your own health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and state your position: you favour seeking better opportunities, while explaining that some people prefer familiar work and consider their income sufficient. This addresses the main parts of the question, but the discussion is only partly developed. For instance, the first view is mainly explained through comfort and avoiding hard work, while the benefits or drawbacks of accepting a shortage of money are not explored. The second view includes relevant points about learning skills and improving earnings, but the example remains general and does not show how these changes improve a person’s situation. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example, and make your opinion more precise. The response meets the required length; 27 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “However” and “To sum up” helps readers identify the shift between positions. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in long strings rather than developed in a logical sequence. For example, the second body paragraph moves from earning more to changing jobs, learning skills, becoming energetic, and becoming a leader without explaining the links between these outcomes. Some connections are also repetitive, particularly the repeated references to staying in one place and working hard. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it, using linking phrases and references more selectively and accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “comfort zone,” “new skills,” “earn more,” and “respective fields.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “proficient” and “energetic.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or make the meaning less clear. For example, “live wealthy life,” “do experiments” when discussing work, and “weather is essential” do not express the intended ideas precisely. Spelling and word-form errors, including “Further more” and “habitual,” also affect accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for employment, financial security, and career development, and check that each expression fits its context. The vocabulary is understandable overall but lacks consistent control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and relative structures, as in “if a person stays at one job for a Longer period of time” and “who don’t want to come out of their comfort zone.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include the missing subject in “In my perspective keep on going,” the agreement shift in “a person … they will be habitual,” and the incomplete construction “they become more energetic can improve their abilities.” Articles, verb forms, and punctuation also need attention, as in “switch to new job” and the comma spacing around clauses. Practise building complete sentences with one clear subject and verb, then check agreement and sentence boundaries.
