Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The question of whether people should accept a bad situation, such as a shortage of money or they ought to make efforts in such situation has sparked a debatable issue. In relation to this, this essay willl shed some light on the both perspectives before reaching a logical conclusion. Although people should accept bad situations yet efforts should be done by them to improve it.
On the one hand, accepting a bad situation, such as an unsatifactory job orshoratge of money is vital since it helps individual to deal with the exsisting situation. In other words, it is better to cope up with shortage of money to avail the basic necessities such as food and shelter. This is because nothing is better than something. For instance, a survey has been conducted by the researchers that people of less developed nations are more likely to do unsatisfactory job rather than being unemployed.
On the otherhand, others believev that try and improve shortage of money and unsatisfactory job is much better than always stick towards bad situation. If people do work hard then they might be able to attain such position that they want to get in their life. It could be clearly explained by taking an example that majority of youngsters prefer to do efforts to change their position of assistant to manager to branch manager in a company which encourages them that they can achieve anything as there is nothing that they could not achieve inn their life.
Nevertheless, as per my opinion trying hard enough to get position in life is quite better than always relying on the thing that the only option they have is the acceptance of shortage of money.
In conclusion, both the points have their own justification yet it is believed that it is optimal to try and improve situations like unsatisfactory job or lack of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the final paragraph and conclusion. The examples about coping with limited income and progressing from assistant to manager are relevant, so the response covers the main parts of the prompt. However, the two positions are not developed equally: the acceptance argument is mainly explained as coping with basic needs, while the improvement argument relies on a broad claim that hard work can achieve anything. Explain more precisely why someone might accept an unsatisfactory situation, and acknowledge practical limits or risks involved in trying to change it. This would make the discussion and support more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. The progression from one side to the other is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help orient the reader. This organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For example, “Nevertheless” introduces your opinion without clearly showing how it follows from the preceding argument, and “Although … yet” combines two contrasting linkers unnecessarily. Use transitions that express the precise relationship between points, and connect examples more explicitly to the claims they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “unsatisfactory job,” “basic necessities,” “unemployed,” and “position,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “reaching a logical conclusion.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable: “cope up with,” “stick towards,” and “do efforts” do not sound natural in these contexts. Spelling errors such as “unsatifactory,” “exsisting,” and “believev” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations and proofread carefully; a smaller set of well-controlled expressions will be more effective than awkwardly formal wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If people do work hard then they might be able to attain such position” and a concession in the introduction. These attempts show some range, and the main ideas can usually be understood. However, some sentence structures are faulty or awkward, including “Although people should accept bad situations yet efforts should be done by them” and “others believe that try and improve … is much better.” There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “helps individual” and “the only option they have is the acceptance.” Practise building clear clauses with accurate subjects and verbs, and check article use and punctuation when revising.
