Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

People specially young ones usually face financial issues and rejections in jobs at the start of the carrier. It is highly argued that wether one should accept the financial hardship or employment issues as thier fate or continue to strive through and achieve their dream carrier, I strongly beleive that one should try again again to turn the tables rather than just accepting unwanted situations.

On one hand, due to shortage of jobs, people fail multiple time in landing their dream job despite good educational background and talent and they have to persue another job to earn money. Similarly, one can face shortage of money due unforeseen circumstances or other family burdens they have to beer. They might think that doing a job that was never planned or living with shortage of money is their life and give up.

On the other hand, some people think thank regardless of these conditions ,continue to learn skills and do hardwork to make their dream come true. For instance, a fresh graduate may face rejections from companies and have to do some conventional job. He has two options, one to give up and accept it as his future or continue to apply for his job. It might take time and test his nerves but it will reward him in long term.

Summarizing, People might encounter bad conditions but surrending and not trying will never help them out, the only way it to try and find ways to get to the destination they always wanted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your own position clear: the introduction states that people should keep trying rather than accept unwanted circumstances, and the conclusion reinforces this. The discussion of accepting a different job or living with financial difficulty is relevant, as is the graduate example showing persistence. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the reasons people may accept a difficult situation are mostly asserted, while the argument for trying is explained more fully. The example also focuses on employment and does not explore how someone might improve a shortage of money. To strengthen the response, explain the practical reasons acceptance may sometimes be sensible, then develop how people can improve either situation and acknowledge possible limits.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding summary. The signposts “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Summarizing” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, some ideas are joined abruptly or left unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “Similarly, one can face shortage of money” moves quickly from causes to the conclusion that people may give up, without explaining the link. The example in the second body paragraph also shifts from a graduate’s options to the long-term reward without specifying what that reward might be. Use clearer links between cause, response, and outcome, and make references such as “it” and “their job” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial hardship,” “shortage of jobs,” “rejections,” and “conventional job,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited in places, and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “carrier” is used where “career” is intended, “persue” for “pursue,” and “beer” for “bear.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “continue to strive through” and “turn the tables” in this context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for financial pressure, job applications, and persistence would help you express the ideas with greater control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style example and clauses introduced by “despite” and “regardless.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message remains understandable. However, errors occur in sentence construction and punctuation. For example, “Similarly, one can face shortage of money due unforeseen circumstances or other family burdens they have to bear” combines clauses without a clear grammatical link. In “regardless of these conditions, continue to learn skills,” the subject is missing, and the comma splice makes the sentence difficult to follow. Review articles, prepositions, subject–verb structure, and sentence boundaries, and proofread long sentences by separating ideas where needed.
