Student answer (Band 6.0)

A substantial number of people believe that we should accept the problems, such as unhapiness with job or economic crisis while others think that the best way is give some effort to improve the situations. Although accepting a problem is only approach as situations are out of our control, I personally believe trying for solve the issue is the best way because it helps people to control the problem.

On the one hand, there are many reasons why people believe it is a positive thing to accept the difficulties in our livers. The main reason is that we are unable to control some specific problems such as unemployment and financial crisis. As most them are national issues , it is very difficult for people to play a big impact to short out such bad situations. Consequently, they should accept the situations because they have nothing to do on this concern. For instance, in the time of economic recession, most of the people lost their jobs and face money crisis, however, they can not do anything without admiting the situations.

On the other hand, there are some key justifications why people should give effort to impove the situations. We live in a world where facing regular social and personal problems is commom. If we just put up with such problems, these problem will never be sloved. Furthermore, we may face more unexpected situations and ultimetly things will get more complicated. Therefore, it is reasonable to try to mitigate the problem which can make these problem solveable. For example, my uncle lost his job during the COVID-19 pandemic after that he started a new business and became successful.

In conclusion, although some situations are so complicated that we have almost nothing to do, I believe attempt to improve the situations is the most effective way because it assists us to tackle the crisis.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of acceptance is relevant: you explain that unemployment and financial crises may be beyond an individual’s control. You also support your own view with the example of your uncle starting a business after losing his job. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The claim that people “have nothing to do” during a recession is too absolute, and the opposing view could be explored more carefully—for example, distinguishing between accepting what cannot be changed and taking practical steps where possible. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation of its limits or consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. In “after that he started a new business,” the relationship between losing his job and starting the business would be clearer with a more precise link. References such as “these problem” also make it harder to track the ideas. Aim to connect each example directly to the point it supports, and vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “financial crisis,” “economic recession,” “mitigate,” and “complicated,” and the main meaning is generally clear. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural. For example, “play a big impact” and “short out such bad situations” do not express the intended meanings clearly; “have a significant effect” and “resolve such difficulties” would be more appropriate. There are also spelling errors such as “unhapiness,” “commom,” and “ultimetly.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, especially for describing problems, responses, and outcomes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession in “Although accepting a problem…” and conditional reasoning in “If we just put up with such problems…”. These structures help communicate the argument, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the best way is give some effort” needs an infinitive construction, while “most of the people lost their jobs and face money crisis” shifts tense and has an article error. In “I believe attempt to improve,” the verb pattern is incomplete; use “I believe that attempting to improve…” or “I believe we should attempt…”. Review verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation around longer sentences to make your complex ideas more consistently accurate.
