Student answer (Band 5.5)
Number of people believe that people should accept their situation and try to live with it while, some people argue that people should try harder to overcome that situation for their betterment. I firmly believe that we should try our best to achieve something despites having failiures in our life. I will crtically analyze both the aspects of this essay before drowing to the conclusion.
My primary point that merits the serious consideration is that everything around us is achievable, If i talk about materialistic things only, There is nothing in this world we cannot achieve because every thing is human made. To exemplify, when someone says that i cannot get itno harvard university in the terms of money but i say that qualities are the main factor to get into that particular university and with the help of financial aid and in future they will able to secure their career, so overall its the only misconception of society that you cannot reach beyond your limit.
On the other hand, number of people argue that people should live within their limit. because if they take risk it may lead them into a difficult situation, they are afraid of failures, they think if they fail they will fall. For instance my mother always say this to me that i dont have to go to study abroad, its a waste of money, overall she is afraid because there is a huge risk.
To sum up, i highly in a favour of never giving up on something that easily whether its a job or dream because every hardwork pays off!

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear opinion in favour of trying to improve difficult circumstances, and you do discuss both positions. The Harvard example supports your argument that financial barriers may be overcome, while your mother’s concern about studying abroad illustrates fear of risk. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the first view is presented mainly as a belief that people should “live within their limit,” without explaining when accepting a situation might be sensible or beneficial. The examples also remain personal or general rather than showing the consequences of each approach in depth. To strengthen the response, explain the reasoning behind both views more fully and connect each example directly to the question’s situations, such as an unsatisfactory job or lack of money.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “On the other hand” and “To sum up” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several linking expressions feel mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For example, “To exemplify” introduces a long sentence whose point becomes difficult to follow, while “so overall” is repeated without clearly summarising the preceding reasoning. Some references, such as “that situation” and “they,” are not always precise. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence, using fewer but more accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “financial aid,” “achieve,” “risk,” and “failures,” and phrases such as “materialistic things” show an effort to express abstract ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “Number of people believe,” “in the terms of money,” “reach beyond your limit,” and “in a favour of.” Spelling errors such as “despites,” “failiures,” and “crtically” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than translating ideas word for word; for instance, use “a number of people,” “in terms of finances,” and “in favour of.” Proofreading for spelling and repeated wording would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when.” However, complex sentences are often faulty or run together, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. In the Harvard example, several ideas are joined in one sentence without clear grammatical boundaries. There are also problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and punctuation, as in “Number of people believe,” “they will able to secure,” and “my mother always say.” Capitalisation and comma use are inconsistent, including after “If” and “because.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate conjunctions and punctuation.
