Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear personal view in “I strongly believe that we should try,” and you briefly refer to both accepting difficult circumstances and trying to improve them. However, the response does not develop either side of the discussion: it gives no reasons or examples explaining when acceptance might be sensible or how people could improve a job or financial situation. The second paragraph mentions troubles and hopelessness but does not connect these ideas clearly to the two views or support your opinion. The response is also substantially below the required minimum length, so the task is only minimally addressed. To improve, explain both positions, give a relevant example for each, and develop your own view with reasons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an opening paragraph and a second paragraph, and the opening signals a contrast between two opinions. The phrase “but others are saying” helps introduce that contrast. However, the ideas do not progress into a complete discussion: the second paragraph shifts to troubles and hopelessness without explaining how these points relate to accepting or improving a situation. Connections between sentences are limited, and the opening sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded together. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each point with clear references and transitions so the reader can follow the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “bad situation,” “circumstances,” “struggle,” and “hurdles,” so the general subject is understandable. There is also an attempt to express more abstract ideas through “discouraging situation.” However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “try for best” and “try doing better development,” and “we hopeless” does not express the intended meaning accurately. The vocabulary range is limited, with repeated reliance on general words such as “situation” and “try.” Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing employment and finances, and check that chosen words combine naturally in English.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both a longer sentence with contrast—“some people are saying … but others are saying”—and shorter statements, showing some variety in sentence construction. However, control is inconsistent. For example, “we should be try” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “we hopeless” is missing a necessary verb. The sentence beginning “When we face many troubles” is left incomplete, and “we can't do anything because of our discouraging situation” does not clearly connect to a complete preceding idea. There are also punctuation and capitalisation problems, including the space before the comma in the opening and the lowercase “we” after a full stop. Practise complete sentences and accurate verb forms before adding more complex structures.
