Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a preference for improving difficult situations, while also giving a relevant reason for acceptance: it may protect mental well-being. The example of a low-paying job helps illustrate this side. However, the discussion of improvement is brief, and the conclusion does not clearly restate your own position; it ends by listing possible benefits of both approaches. Several ideas, including personal growth and a sense of control, need explanation or a concrete example. The response is also 19 words below the 250-word minimum; the 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides more fully and make your final judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting each view, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On one hand,” “On other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the discussion. However, progression within and between ideas is limited, particularly in the paragraph supporting improvement, which moves quickly from personal growth to learning from mistakes without explaining the connection. Some links are repetitive or awkward, such as “Furthermore” and “Therefore” in close succession, and the conclusion is incomplete, ending without a clear final position. Use each paragraph to develop one main point in a logical sequence, and connect examples directly to the claim they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “peace of mind,” “personal growth,” “stress,” and “sense of control.” These phrases help communicate the main ideas, but the overall range is limited and several expressions are repeated or used inaccurately. For example, “make beneficial” and “trying worse situation in better ways” are unclear, while “make scenorios” and “responsibilty” contain spelling errors. “Sleeping disorder” is also an imprecise expression in this context. These choices sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing coping, employment, and personal development, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain causes and consequences, as in “Constant struggle can lead to stress, anxiety…” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “I believe to try to improve,” “If someone working on low paying job,” and “By accepting the situation can bring happiness,” where verb forms or sentence construction are faulty. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, such as “these situation” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “if.”
