Student answer (Band 5.0)
The statement shows us that some people get unfaithful when they are going through tough times but on the other side there are some people which try to improve .
In my opinion, the people who losses hope or courage are not going to be successful in life but there should be some reasons for them to loose such kind of hope .For example, some people have money problems, they can not afford bills or fees of their children so they just give up .
But is is not the solution , on the other hand people gives there everything for their family and friends . They do not loose hope. They get motivated everytime. Additionally, they do work even there is no hope left. A documentry released by ISSB Pakistan shows us that most of the people who got accepted by armed forces are from villages, going through bad phases but they worked hard and had believe in them.
Nevertheless, there are some people in this world who are examples for us. They were also poor or they have seen bad situations in life. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo was from a small town in Portugal. He had no money to buy his shoes in childhood but he worked hard , he motivated himself and the rest is history .
In conclusion, there are many people in this world who are unmotivated and not trying to work hard but on the other side there are some people who works hard and achieve there goals, in my opinion you should always have faith in yourself .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear preference for perseverance, especially in the conclusion: “you should always have faith in yourself.” The examples about people facing financial hardship and Cristiano Ronaldo are relevant to improving difficult circumstances. However, the discussion of accepting a bad situation is only briefly touched on through people who “just give up”; you do not explain why acceptance might sometimes be sensible or beneficial. The response therefore addresses the two views unevenly, and several claims are asserted rather than developed—for example, the reference to the ISSB documentary is not clearly connected to the broader argument. To strengthen the response, explain both perspectives in comparable detail and make your position explicit from the introduction onward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an introduction, a sequence of supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its general direction. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: “Nevertheless” introduces another example supporting perseverance rather than a contrasting point, and the discussion moves from financial hardship to the armed forces and then Ronaldo without a clear organising plan. Some references, such as “they” and “there,” are also difficult to follow. Group the two viewpoints into distinct paragraphs, use linking expressions that accurately show contrast or addition, and make each example clearly support the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “tough times,” “money problems,” “motivated,” and “worked hard,” and the examples make your meaning generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or repetitive, such as “bad situations,” “give up,” and “worked hard.” Some word choices also obscure the intended meaning: “get unfaithful” does not naturally describe losing hope, while “had believe in them” is not an appropriate expression. Spelling errors such as “documentry” and “loose” for “lose” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for hardship, acceptance, and taking action, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if they are going through tough times” and a sentence explaining why people may give up. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “the people who losses hope,” “people gives,” and “there are some people which try,” where subject–verb agreement and relative pronouns are incorrect. There are also problems with verb forms and sentence construction in “They were also poor or they have seen bad situations,” as well as punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, consistent past and present forms, and clear sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
