Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some proponents believe in accepting a bad situation like a job that one do not like or shortage of money in life. On the other hand, some opponents argue that one should try to improve the situation rather than just accepting it. I strongely agree with the latter statement that it is better to make efforts until the very end.

Firstly, sometimes people just give up on things that matter the most in life like an unpleasant job. They simply accpept the condition that it is the best thing for them without fighting for a better opportunity. Similarly, they get satisfy with the money they make even it does not fulfill thier needs. They do not try to find solution for their problems that creating bad situation and just accept the things how they are. As result, later in the future when thier peers live better life than them, they regret that the things would have been better if they would have make efforts.

Furthermore, it is always better to try harder than yesterday, to make situation better than how it was yesterday. If one simply accept the things and do not try to improvise it, he can not learn anything from it. One should always try to do better everytime and give his best even if he fails. Eventually, one day his efforts will improve the situation and he will achieve his goals and in this whole process he learns and make himself better. At the end, he will get whatever the best for him and he will not have the regret of not trying.

To summerise, from the both arguements, in my view I think it is worth to try for betterment rather than accepting the fate or the situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both perspectives and make your own position clear: you support trying to improve difficult circumstances rather than accepting them. The examples of an unpleasant job and insufficient income are relevant, and you explain possible regret if people do not make an effort. However, the discussion of acceptance is mostly presented as giving up, without explaining why someone might reasonably accept a situation—for example, when change is outside their control or acceptance protects their wellbeing. The argument for trying is also broad, relying on general claims about learning and eventual success. Develop each view more evenly and add a specific, realistic example or qualification to make the reasoning clearer and more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs developing the two sides, and a concluding statement of your opinion. Signposts such as “On the other hand,” “Firstly,” and “Furthermore” help readers follow the progression. However, the first body paragraph focuses mainly on the negative consequences of accepting circumstances, rather than clearly explaining the reasoning behind that viewpoint. Some links are also mechanical, and references such as “it” and “the things” can be vague. The conclusion repeats the position but adds little synthesis. To strengthen organisation, make each paragraph’s central purpose explicit, connect examples directly to the claim they support, and use more precise referencing and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant phrases such as “unpleasant job,” “better opportunity,” and “achieve his goals.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “until the very end” and “regret of not trying.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “strongely,” “accpept,” “improvise” for improving a situation, and “get satisfy.” Some wording is repetitive, particularly repeated references to “situation,” “things,” and “try.” These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations, and choose more specific terms when describing financial or employment difficulties.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and time clauses: “If one simply accept the things…” and “when their peers live better life than them.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “one do not like” and “one simply accept,” the missing article in “find solution,” and the incorrect construction “even it does not fulfill their needs.” The sentence about peers and regret also has an awkward conditional structure: “the things would have been better if they would have make efforts.” Work on agreement, articles, and conditional forms, and proofread longer sentences for clause structure. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
