Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are a lot of situations faced by individual in their entire life some have capability to fight with them some give up it. It is believed by some people that accept bad situations regarding financially and job is best. While others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. This essay will discuss both views in depth, however, I personally side with latter view point.

On the one hand some say that accept bad situations such as money shortage and unsatisfactory job. First of all if person are happy but they face problems with their job and finacially they accept it and live their life because sometimes people need to sacrifice more as compare to problems which they have in their present. Furthermore, bad situations are also a part of life but its are temporary. However, if people start to improve it sometimes they watch failures which make persons life more complex.

On the other hand it is nothing which is impossible if people start to improve situations such as unsatisfactory job and shortage of money so it is important to improve it becaus it is very difficult to face critism everyday and also live without money in todays world money is so important and it makes people value therefore it is necessary if people do hardwork and get a lot of experience from failures so they definitely become successful in their life.

In conclusion, if people becoem fail so it become more difficult for them to survive. However, on the other hand it is also difficult to watch critism in daily life so thats why people should hardwork.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a personal preference in the introduction: “I personally side with latter view point.” The two body paragraphs also correspond to accepting difficulties and trying to improve them, so the response is relevant to the task. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The reasons for acceptance—being happy despite problems, needing to sacrifice, and fearing failure—are not clearly explained or illustrated. The case for improvement is more direct, but claims such as money “makes people value” and hard work leading to success need clarification and support. The conclusion repeats the competing difficulties rather than clearly restating your position. Develop each view with a specific explanation or example, and make your final opinion consistent and explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are joined without a clear relationship. For example, the first body paragraph moves from being happy to sacrifice, then to life’s temporary problems and fear of failure, without showing how these points connect. The conclusion’s “However, on the other hand” also creates confusing contrast. Use a clearer sequence—main point, explanation, example—and make pronouns such as “it” refer unmistakably to a situation or idea. This would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “shortage of money,” “unsatisfactory job,” “sacrifice,” “failures,” and “successful.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of the issues being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to understand. For instance, “money makes people value” does not express a clear idea, while “watch failures” and “face criticism everyday” are not natural combinations in this context. Spelling errors such as “finacially,” “becaus,” and “become” also affect accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check spelling, word forms, and collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “which.” This shows an effort to express reasons and conditions. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction can make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “if person are happy,” “bad situations … it’s are temporary,” and “if people becoem fail.” Some sentences also run together without clear punctuation, particularly the long sentence beginning “On the other hand it is nothing which is impossible.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause. Check subject–verb agreement and use full stops to separate complete thoughts.
