Student answer (Band 5.5)

People have different opinions weather they should accept difficult situations or try to improve the circumstences. While some people argue that accepting problems can make life easier but other believe that people should try to change the situations. In my opinion, accepting is neccessery, trying to improve the circumstence is more beneficial.

On the one hand, accepting the bad situation can reduce the stress, and give peace of mind. Sometime people have littel control on their problems, but they continuously worrying which cause negative effect on their mental health. For Example, people who worried about difficult situation, they experience stress and anxiety. Similarlary, people who have financial difficulties may learn who to manage their expenses. Therefore, accepting difficult situation can help people to stay focused and positive.

On the other hand, I believe that trying to change the difficult situations is the effective approach. If people accept every problem without taking actions, they lack the opportunities to develope their skills and improve the quality of their life style. For instant, a employee who is unhappy with their salary can learn new skills to improve their position and salary. In addtion, people who experience financial problems can make buget and reduce their expence. These action gradually leads to improvement of bad situations.

In conclusion, accepting difficult situations can reduce stress, while in my opinion making efforts to improve the circumstences is the beneficial because this approch improve their skills and lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and give a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the second body paragraph and conclusion. Relevant examples include managing expenses and learning new skills to improve salary prospects. However, the opening says “accepting is necessary” before favouring improvement, so your position is not fully consistent. The acceptance argument is also less developed: you mention reduced stress and financial management, but do not explain when acceptance is preferable or how it differs from taking action. The response is 10 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both sides. Clarify your position in the introduction and extend the less-developed points with explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some linking is mechanical, however, and several connections between ideas are unclear. For example, “Similarly” introduces a point about financial difficulties that does not clearly parallel the preceding example, while “Therefore” makes the conclusion about staying positive feel abrupt. The conclusion also repeats the main contrast rather than drawing the discussion together. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between each example and its supporting claim explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “stress,” “financial difficulties,” “manage their expenses,” and “improve the quality of their life.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “peace of mind” and “mental health.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “weather,” “circumstences,” “neccessery,” and “buget,” and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “learn who to manage” and “make buget” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Repetition of “difficult situation” and “improve” also limits range. Check spelling carefully, learn common word partnerships, and vary repeated phrases with accurate alternatives such as “challenging circumstances” or “make progress.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While some people argue…” and a conditional sentence beginning “If people accept every problem…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence structure and grammar occur often enough to affect fluency. For example, “While some people argue … but other believe” combines two contrasting structures, and “they continuously worrying” is missing a finite verb. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and number, as in “a employee” and “These action … leads.” Practise building contrast sentences with either “while” or “but,” and check that each clause has a complete verb and that subjects agree with their verbs. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
