Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some people think that it is good to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money while others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations and this has become a widely debated topic around the world. While some people think that it has benefits and other think that it can cause problem. In my opinion, the advantages of this are greater than disadvantages and i will explain my reason below.

The first important reason why most people disagreed this idea. This is because of some people think it is best to accept a bad situations such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money but this is not best if people will stay with this mindset, this will not help them to grow in future. Infact, they remains stuck at one place. Because of this a number of people worried about the effects it may have on society and family life. This shows that this idea is not useful at all. As a result, mostly people do not support this idea in thier daily lives.

On the other hand, many people including my self believe that it is very beneficial. I personally support this view because of this reason, that other people argue that it is better to try and improve situations and this is a great thinking only this type of mindset will help to grow people in future. For example, many people in different countries already experienced this change in a direct and personal way. That is why, a large number of people are now in the favour of this idea.

In conclusion, although both views have some truth. I personally believe that the positive side is stronger. If people use it wisely and carefully, it will bring more good results than the bad ones.I hope government and individual work together for better and successful future for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both views and state a preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, particularly in the introduction and the paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” However, the discussion is only partial: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are not explained, and the opposing view is mostly presented as something people believe rather than examined. Your support for change is also general; the example that people in different countries have experienced it gives no specific illustration. The conclusion repeats your preference but does not resolve the discussion in detail. Develop a clear reason for each view and support each with a relevant example or explanation, so the response answers all parts more fully. The stated length requirement is met; 35 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the structure. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph opens with “The first important reason why most people disagreed this idea,” but the point that follows is difficult to connect to a reason for accepting the situation. Several sentences repeat the same claim rather than developing it, and references such as “this idea” and “this” do not always make clear which view is meant. Use topic sentences that state each side’s main reason, then sequence explanation and evidence logically. More precise referencing and fewer repetitive transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “mindset,” and “society and family life.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “beneficial” and “positive side.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated use of “idea” and “grow people.” Some word-choice and spelling errors are noticeable: “disagreed this idea,” “thier,” and “in the favour” are not natural or accurate in context. Choose more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, describe people as “developing” or “progressing” rather than “growing.” Proofreading spelling and phrase choices would make the message clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If people use it wisely and carefully, it will bring more good results.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some points difficult to interpret. For example, “While some people think that it has benefits and other think that it can cause problem” has agreement and plural errors, while “The first important reason why most people disagreed this idea” is an incomplete construction. There are also errors in “they remains stuck” and “although both views have some truth,” where the latter is not a complete sentence as written. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, plurals, and punctuation before submitting.
