Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce both views: accepting difficult circumstances because of family responsibilities and job insecurity, and trying to improve one’s situation through better skills. However, the discussion remains limited and the position is not clearly stated. The prompt asks you to discuss both views and give your own opinion, but the conclusion mainly advises readers to write down problems and solve them; it does not clearly say which view you support or explain why. Examples such as improving job skills are relevant, but their benefits are not developed in enough detail. The response is also five words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your opinion directly and explain each view with a specific, developed example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal a change of viewpoint. However, progression between ideas is often unclear, and some sentences do not connect logically. For example, “There are several reasons for this, and they can investigate it according to the jobs” does not clearly explain the preceding point. The conclusion introduces advice about writing down problems rather than drawing together the two views. Linking words are sometimes mechanical or incorrectly capitalised, as in “On the Other hand,” and “And also” at the start of a sentence. Use one clear main idea per paragraph, connect each explanation to that idea, and make the conclusion answer the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “financial condition,” “stable income” and “opportunities.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “enhance our job skills” and “financial freedom.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “better financial freedom” and “break the cage of trouble conditions” are not natural ways to express these ideas, while “a job person” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “tbis,” “impeove” and “peoblems” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause in “Because a lot of people in the world struggle…” and a conditional idea beginning “people can accept this situation but…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation. For example, “people need money to support their families. And people think…” creates a fragment-like connection, while “everyone need” lacks subject–verb agreement. In “they achieve the financial freedom,” the article is not used naturally, and several sentences run together or contain incomplete constructions. Practise building clear sentences with a subject and verb, then combine ideas using accurate clauses and punctuation.
