Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position clearly: you argue that people should improve difficult circumstances rather than simply accept them. The response also gives relevant examples, such as looking for another job or doing extra work to address financial problems. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The case for accepting a bad situation is not really explained as a viewpoint; instead, the first body paragraph mainly describes disadvantages of accepting it. The benefits of trying to improve circumstances are also asserted rather than explored in detail. To strengthen the response, explain why some people may choose acceptance—for example, because change is risky or outside their control—and develop each side with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting positions, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the flipping side,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, and the progression within paragraphs is uneven. For example, the first body paragraph moves from financial needs to job satisfaction and promotion without clearly showing how each point supports the argument. References such as “his futureself,” “their future pursuits,” and “its work” also make it difficult to track who is being discussed. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “shortage of money,” “promotion,” “crisis,” and “future pursuits,” and you use some phrases to express evaluation, such as “proved as an asset.” However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “scenerio,” “employement,” “debateble,” and “unsatisfacted job”; phrases such as “discreated attitude” and “sitting placing hand on hand” are also unclear or unnatural. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than ambitious but uncertain wording. Building a small set of topic phrases—such as “financial hardship,” “job dissatisfaction,” and “seek better employment”—would help you express ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if someone have… and if one accept…” and a concession in the introduction beginning “Although…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries frequently affect clarity. For example, “Everyone have to try” needs subject–verb agreement, while “if someone have” and “if one accept” repeat this problem. The opening also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and punctuation is often misplaced, as in “Although,it is the nature of life…”. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “although,” “because,” and “if.”
