Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

There is very tough competition all around the Globe. Nowadays people believe work hard to get the job and achieve better life style but there are also many hurdels such as less pay or not a job which you liked the most.

In every situation of life people face many problems such as jobs, scholarships or shortage of money. Many people think it is good to accept every situtation because it is the part of life. People must try to learn new skills for side hustle but it does not mean to skip thier job. First people have to learn skill properly and if they start good earning than they could skip their old job.

Most of people want proper setup to start their bussiness and they fail because it is not possible to get the hundreds customors on day first. You start from zero in which you gain skills and learn how to handel situations step by step. In this modern era people have many options and fields in which they work properly and they must get success such as IT skills. Nowadays everyone wants to be a successful man and desires to have better lifestyle, car etc.

In my opinions, if we work hard we must get success and achieve every goal in our life

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce the general issue and give some relevant advice about improving a difficult work or financial situation, such as learning skills and building a business gradually. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the view that people should accept a bad situation is only briefly mentioned as accepting it because it is “the part of life.” The opposing view is also not developed into a clear, supported argument, and your own opinion appears only in the final sentence. The response therefore addresses the question only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-explained. It is also 33 words below the required minimum. To improve, explain the reasons behind each view, give a relevant example, and state your position clearly in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has separate paragraphs and a broadly recognisable order: an introduction, discussion of difficulties and skills, a business example, and a concluding opinion. This gives the reader some structure. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear. For example, the paragraph beginning “Most of people want proper setup” moves from business start-up difficulties to IT skills and then to lifestyle ambitions without explaining the links. Connectors such as “but,” “because,” and “such as” are used, but they do not always make the relationship between points clear, and the conclusion is very abrupt. Organise the body into one paragraph for each view, use clear topic sentences, and link each example directly to the argument it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “shortage of money,” “learn new skills,” “business,” and “successful,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond very basic statements, such as “start from zero” and “step by step.” However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural: “hurdels,” “situtation,” “thier,” “bussiness,” and “customors.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “proper setup” and “get the hundreds customors on day first.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for employment, income, and starting a business; this will make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “Many people think it is good to accept every situtation because it is the part of life” and “You start from zero in which you gain skills and learn how to handel situations step by step.” These attempts show some variety, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “people believe work hard” needs a grammatical structure such as “people believe they must work hard,” while “if they start good earning than they could skip” has problems with clause structure and verb phrasing. The final sentence also lacks a full stop. Practise forming complete clauses, using conditional sentences accurately, and checking sentence boundaries and punctuation.
