Student answer (Band 5.5)
In fast paced world, people used to face unfavourable situations in their life. some argue that accepting bad situation such as unsatisfactory job or financial difficulties is favourable. Others argue that individual should try for improve such situations. I personally believe that people should not be unfavourable situation where they unsatisfied which is prevent them to achieve their goal.
On the one hand, people may suffer from unfavourable circumstances in professional and personal life. The major reason for the bad situation is pressure and insecurity. Some people have work pressure due to strict management, pressure from senior department and financial responsibilities.
Sometimes employees in companies working in same environment because of financial need, and do not have courage to left job. They have constant fear to lose financial stability. For instance, people hesitate to start a new business or a career, because individuals have lack of confidence or fear of failure. financial difficulties can also force them to compromise.
One the other hand, people put efforts for personal and professional growth. individuals should step outside from their comfort zone. people should upgrading their skills, gain relevant education rather than stuck at the difficult circumstances. individual should have positive mind set and broaden their knowledge. Sometime changes in professional life do not give immediate result but people will learn from their mistakes. For instance, sometime people try to improve difficult situation for higher education or develop entrepreneurial skills,
eventually it beneficial for their personal development and satisfying life.
In conclusion, some people choose to be at difficult situation, due to financial responsibilities. I believe that people should take calculated risk and embrace new opportunities, it lead to success, independence and satisfying life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear opinion: the first body paragraph explains why people may remain in difficult circumstances, while the second argues for taking steps towards improvement. Your conclusion reinforces the view that calculated risks can lead to independence and fulfilment. These points are relevant, but some are more fully explained than others. For example, financial insecurity and fear of failure are identified, yet the discussion of accepting a bad situation could explain more directly why acceptance might be sensible or beneficial. The suggestions to upgrade skills and pursue education are relevant, but their connection to improving an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money could be developed with a more specific example. Further explanation of both sides would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “One the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven: the first body paragraph moves from workplace pressure to starting a business and then financial difficulties without clearly showing how each point supports accepting a bad situation. Some linking is also mechanical, and references such as “it” in “eventually it beneficial” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and illustrate it in sequence. More precise links between examples and the argument would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “financial stability,” “comfort zone,” “calculated risk,” and “entrepreneurial skills.” These expressions help communicate ideas about work, money, and personal development. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “pressure from senior department,” “people have lack of confidence,” and “be at difficult situation” are not natural formulations. “Unfavourable” is repeated often, and “satisfying life” appears in both the body and conclusion. Aim for more accurate combinations and vary repeated terms, for example by using “adverse circumstances,” “job insecurity,” or “a fulfilling life” where appropriate. These changes would make your vocabulary more flexible and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because individuals have lack of confidence or fear of failure” and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. Examples include “individual should try for improve,” “do not have courage to left job,” and “people should upgrading their skills.” Articles and agreement also need attention, as in “accepting bad situation” and “it beneficial.” Some sentences join independent ideas with commas, particularly in the conclusion, where “I believe that people should take calculated risk and embrace new opportunities, it lead to success” needs clearer punctuation and agreement. Practise accurate verb patterns, articles, and sentence boundaries.
