Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is a debate going around about having contentment in bad situation should be considered normal or not. It's often argued that some of the population consider that greatest solution to difficulties is to accept, whilst others believe that instead of accepting reality they should start to find opportunities.

First of all, I want to discuss about why people are more likely to accept difficulties and get along with it. To live freely and peaceful, they just want to feel the satisfication even when there is a numerous problems to deal with. Also, there is a difference between what they value in life, so some of the population just live as they dreamed, and it can be felt or seen miserable to other.

Secondly, on the other side of the problem, people who are really successful and built their dream life from being no one thought that there is always a chance and an opportunity in life to get more contentment in life. They just want others to follow their path because it is what others proud when they listen to their history. Furthermore, there is some people believe that all of us i mean all of the people need to do something great once.

There's always be a debate or argument about this problem because there is always be different views and opinions. From my prespective, the life choices of public should always be done by depending on what they value, judging the decisions of them won't make them regret and having realisation. I think it is completely okay to having contentment and great satisfication in life even when there are bad things around you, because bad things always happen.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for accepting difficult circumstances, especially in the conclusion: “it is completely okay to having contentment.” However, the discussion is only partial because the reasons are broad and not sufficiently explained. For example, you say people accept difficulties to “live freely and peaceful,” but do not show how acceptance helps them or give a concrete example. The opposing view is also presented mainly through claims about successful people and their “dream life,” without explaining practical ways to improve a job or financial situation. Your position is present, but it would be clearer if stated directly and supported with more specific reasoning throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “From my perspective” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed beside one another without a clear link—for instance, the point about different values is followed by the claim that others may see these lives as miserable. Some linking phrases are also repetitive or awkward, including “on the other side of the problem” and repeated references to “there is always.” Develop each paragraph around one main reason, then connect explanation and example more explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “difficulties,” “opportunities,” “contentment,” and “life choices,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the argument less clear. Examples include “having contentment in bad situation,” “get along with it,” and “built their dream life from being no one.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “satisfication” and “prespective.” Aim for more precise phrases connected to the task, such as financial hardship, job dissatisfaction, accept circumstances, or take steps to improve one’s situation. Check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in sentence patterns and agreement, and some make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “To live freely and peaceful” has an incomplete grammatical pattern, while “there is a numerous problems” has incorrect agreement and article use. The conclusion’s “it is completely okay to having” also uses the wrong verb form. Several sentences join ideas without clear punctuation, as in “all of us i mean all of the people.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, verb patterns, and punctuation before adding more complex structures.
