Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern that most export categories rose while gems and jewellery declined, and you note textiles as the strongest percentage increase and agriculture as the weakest. These are relevant overview features. However, the report contains a key inconsistency: it says textiles led with an 8.5% increase, although 8.5% belongs to engineered goods and textiles rose by 15.24%. You also give percentage changes but make little use of the chart’s export values, such as petroleum remaining the largest category and textiles rising from about $26 billion to $31.5 billion. The overview is therefore useful but some comparisons are unclear or insufficiently developed. More accurate reporting of both the chart and table would make the summary more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of details. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and contrast is signalled with “In contrast.” However, progression is weakened by repetition: the decline in gems and jewellery and the increases in the other categories are stated in both the overview and later paragraphs without adding much detail. Some links are also awkward or unclear, particularly “all had a significant increase in percentage in this textiles accounted for 8.5% increase leading in front.” Grouping the figures into clear comparisons—for example, the largest earners, the declining category, and the strongest and weakest percentage changes—would improve the logical flow and make connections between sentences easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage increase,” “declined,” and “compared to,” so the topic is generally clear. There is also some attempt to vary wording with “rise,” “spike,” and “downfall.” However, spelling errors such as “variour,” “catagory,” and “percentile” are noticeable, and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “percentile differs” should refer to percentage changes, while “steady rose” and “major spike” do not fit the intended meaning naturally. Repetition of “increase in exports” and “products” also limits range. Aim for accurate collocations such as “export earnings rose” and “recorded the largest increase,” and check spelling carefully; this would make the vocabulary more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “whereas” and a comparison introduced by “In contrast.” However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some statements difficult to follow. For example, “there was an steady rose” has problems with the article and noun form, while “all had a significant increase in percentage in this textiles accounted…” is an incomplete, poorly joined construction. There are also issues with agreement and articles in “the gems and jewellery products exports are declined” and “faced an decline.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add a subordinate clause where useful. Check articles, verb forms, and punctuation before submitting.
