Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the bar chart and the table, and your overview identifies the main contrast: most export values rose, while gems and jewellery fell. The specific figures for petroleum, engineered goods, textiles and gems are broadly consistent with the visual. However, the overview repeats the same trend in both sentences rather than highlighting the most important comparisons, such as petroleum being the highest earner in both years and textiles showing the largest percentage rise. Some details are less accurate: agricultural exports are about $31 billion in 2015 and $31.5 billion in 2016, rather than $30 billion and $32 billion. Also, the table reports percentage changes, not proportions. A more selective overview and closer precision in reporting would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate paragraphs for chart details and table figures. This makes the information generally easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: repeated openings such as “This figure” and “Similarly” do not always clarify how the figures relate. “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the final paragraph mainly adds table data. Some sentences are also difficult to follow because punctuation is missing or misplaced, as in “The highest change in textiles approximately 15.24% grew.” Grouping the main comparisons more clearly and using linking phrases only when their relationship is accurate would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “declined,” “increased” and “percentage change,” so the topic is clear. There is some repetition of general verbs such as “grew” and “rose,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “table chart,” “proportion change,” “change in values 3% increased,” and “increase fairly” are not natural ways to describe these data. Spelling and typing slips, including “rosem” and “Ij,” also reduce precision. Aim for a small range of accurate reporting expressions, such as “recorded a rise of,” “stood at,” and “experienced a decline,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the main comparisons can usually be understood. However, some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “one countries exports” needs a possessive form, while “engineered goods and textiles increase” should use a past-tense verb to match the years being described. In “The agricultural products was,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “gems and jewellery was” has the same issue. Several sentences run together or lack spaces after full stops, which makes the text less controlled. Review past-tense reporting, subject–verb agreement, possessives and sentence boundaries; these corrections would make your varied structures more accurate.
