Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main categories and give an overview that petroleum products and engineered goods earned the most, while gems and jewellery declined. You also include several relevant figures and percentage changes. However, some data are misreported or assigned to the wrong category: engineered goods rose to about $62 billion, not $61 billion; textiles were about $26 billion in 2015, not $15 billion; and the 5.18% fall belongs to gems and jewellery, not agricultural products. The statement that every source except gems grew is broadly accurate, but the overview could more clearly compare the largest increase in textiles with the near-stability of agriculture. More accurate selection and reporting of key figures would make the response more complete and clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the figures. This helps the reader identify the general purpose and some key comparisons. However, progression is uneven. The phrase “Secondly” introduces agricultural products and textiles, but the paragraph then gives figures in a confusing order and incorrectly links percentages to categories. “In last” adds a final point that partly repeats the overview rather than developing the comparison. Some linking expressions, such as “Talking about,” also feel mechanical. Grouping the two highest-earning categories together, then comparing the remaining three, and using clear references for each figure would create a more consistent progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “generated,” “decreased,” and “percentage,” and the reader can generally understand the categories being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “number of export earnings,” “rose with 3%,” “vividly,” and “remain untouch” are not natural ways to describe the data. There are also repeated spelling errors such as “petrolium,” “erning,” and “taxtiles.” Aim for accurate, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully. Phrases such as “increased by 3%,” “remained almost unchanged,” and “recorded the highest growth” would express the trends more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the response is usually understandable. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “petrolium products and engineered goods generates highest earnings” has subject–verb agreement and article problems, while “There was substantial growth were measured” combines incompatible structures. In “the figure rose with 3% in 2016 and erned 63 billion,” the clause construction and verb forms are faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, including missing spaces after commas and unnecessary commas. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use straightforward patterns such as “Earnings from X rose by … to …” before attempting longer structures.
