Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover the chart and table and identify several important patterns, including petroleum as the highest-value category and textiles as the fastest-growing export. You also correctly report the table’s percentage changes, including the fall in gems and jewellery. However, the overview is partly inaccurate: textiles were not the smallest category in 2015, and in 2016 they were level with agricultural products at about $31.5 billion. Some chart details are also confused: engineered goods rose from about $57 billion to $62 billion, while gems fell from about $43 billion to $41 billion; the sentence describing these figures is difficult to interpret. The response addresses the task, but some comparisons and trends are less clearly or fully reported than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, moving from an introduction and overview to chart details and then the table. This gives the reader a general route through the information. However, progression within the body is often unclear, especially in “Next engineered and goods had 58%” and “Moreover it was dwell and reached to average situation.” Several linking words, including “While,” “Moreover,” and “At the end,” are used mechanically or do not show the relationship between ideas accurately. Grouping the chart figures into clearer comparisons—for example, rising categories together and the declining category separately—would make the sequence easier to follow. More precise references to each category would also help readers understand what “it” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, such as “exports,” “percentage change,” “decline,” and “rose,” and you attempt a range of ways to describe movement. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unclear, as in “several level,” “ratio of the each category,” “noted indexly,” and “reached to average situation.” These choices sometimes make the intended comparison difficult to understand. There are also spelling errors in “Petrolium” and “petrolium,” and “hike” is less suitable for a formal data summary than “increase.” Aim for a smaller set of precise chart terms—such as “stood at,” “increased to,” and “fell to”—and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response is generally recognisable as a comparison of two years. However, sentence structures are often faulty, particularly where clauses are joined or left incomplete: “Overall, Petrolium products was exported maximum. While Textile accounted minimum export” does not form a clear, complete sequence. There are also recurring problems with subject–verb agreement and articles, such as “The bar chart illustrate” and “the each category.” Tense and sentence boundaries are inconsistent in “After that it has decline marginally,” while punctuation around transitions is sometimes awkward. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use consistent past-tense forms when reporting the 2015–2016 data.
